I wonder if MU being quiet in the portal is because they're waiting on signing Donovan Davis to reclass him. They're two different kinds of players but it's a roster spot?

If we sign Davis, that would rule. That said, we have such a logjam of 6'7" small forwards on the roster and I don't see Damarius or MPIII getting drafted. Not saying no to that sort of prospect, especially if he can give us real depth at PF

They're not.  It'll be a major upset if he chooses Marquette at this point.

Yes he's an hour and 50 minutes away, but that still makes MU the closest high major D-1 school to his hometown. How far is he from Ames? If you want to limit it to just the Milwaukee area, there still have been a lot of good players who MU couldn't, or was not inclined to, land.

Don't know if it was mentioned, but it appears MU is not involved with Jack Kohnen. Iowa, ISU and Nebraska are the leaders.

I'm a little surprised we're not higher on Kager's radar bc Kon has spoken about MU a few times.  Said it was his Dad's choice for him, said he would have gone there over UW, had he "stayed home". 

After hearing Kon talk, I always figured we'd land 1-2 of the brothers.

I can see that.  And I understand it. And from what I read about the Mom, I get it.

Trailing isn't the way I'd describe it.  Marquette's staff should primarily focus on recruits that reciprocate the process.  Focusing energy on a kid that's made it known he's looking elsewhere isn't a great use of time.

Maybe the kid carves his own path and Purdue is the place.  But I understand Marquette and Wisconsin focusing energy and resources elsewhere.

It feels like the 2027 players marquette are looking at are point guards.

And I wouldn't be shocked if transfers are part of the plan looking forward.
