The amount I heard was big, big time money. My source is very connected to the UW and has been for over 40 years. He is not one to say things that he believes to be a rumor. In addition, he told me a month ago that UW was out of the running for Kon, even with the big NIL offer. I will add, anyone that thinks that UW will only spend on football might be off base. They appear to be playing with the big boys.

The little I know about how MU handles NIL, I am still very confident they will be competitive in the NIL game. To be honest, paying key returning guys to play 2-3 additional season's vs. 1-2 year appears to be very solid plan. So far, MU has not lost a key returning player to NIL and I hope that trend continues. Again, with very limited knowledge, I think that trend will continue.

Truth is there are very, very few individual players who can make a dramatic difference to an already very good basketball program.  There are an awful lot of really good players out there. You cannot blame a kid for picking Duke, and Shaka will find another really good player.  Recruiting against the likes of Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc is a very tall order. And, I personally would rather see Shaka keep recruiting players he can develop and keep for three or four years.
