There weren't many in the Big East.  Especially depends on what you consider "can play all over the court".

Maybe, maybe Mamu, Tyrique Jone, Paul Reed, and Robinson-Earl.  Not a big list for the best conference in college bball last season.

Bryce Golden from Butler and Pickett from GTown.  They aren’t all stars, but I remember when Demarr Johnson was at Cincy and he was a unicorn cause he was a 6’9 guy with a handle who played outside. Now those players aren’t as unique cause of how athleticism and the modern BB game changed

Agree if it all comes together best case scenario a very poor man’s Pervis Ellison type which is not that bad 🙂

To be slightly less optimistic, how about a comp to Marquette all time good oluoma nnamaka?

I was speaking basketball-college or pro.

And thanks to everyone for their thoughts. These discussions are what makes Scoop great.

Nobody ever "knows".

But Pervis was a great, great college player, Concensus All-American. No.1 pick in the NBA draft.

To think Oso could be as good as Pervis is to think he will be as good of a player at MU as Markus was. I'm not buying it.

Except MarquetteMike never even came close to saying that he thought "Oso could be as good as Pervis."

He said:

Certainly not worth jumping all over him for that ... and kind of unlike you, that's all.

Absolutely.  Just saying with his height/size and ball handling ability, it's a very unique skillset.

I would wager that Dawson is a better ball handler than Oso, so, we have two guys with unique skill sets coming in next year.  Lewis with big potential too.  Could be the tall version of the triplets.

He said "Agree if it all comes together best case scenario a Pervis Ellison type which is not that bad." The "very poor man's" was added after the fact, which is fine.

But you are right that he didn't say he would be as good as Pervis and I should have acknowledged that (thanks for pointing it out). I just didn't understand the comparison at all. Pervis was a low post power player. Osa is not.

My point wasn't to argue with him. It was to express a different opinion and I respect his even though I disagree with it.

Osa season highlight video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=186&v=8Z2068pEULU&feature=emb_logo

Stirring the pot here - If we were going off highlight videos alone and we didn't know the rank of either player, I would have guessed
Osa was more highly regarded than Dawson.
This guy has the length and athleticism to be a legit game changing player at the NCAA level. Let's hope he continues to develop into a great player for our program.

Agree with you

Reasonable.

We're all friends again!

Thank You. Agree with you both on principle.
We have all been through unbelievable things and most of us are lucky to be where we are.
BUT AGREE AS JAY BILAS SAYS REASONABLE MINDS CAN DIFFER. We all come here for fun and mostly we all mostly want Marquette to win.

Cant tell if this is about our Stan....or the newsworthy Stan that is the dad of Boris Johnson currently trending
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Idk.  People think wojo and Stan are successful recruiters.  It’s a proven fact that recruiting in college b-ball is not in the up and up.

Seems like a yawner to me.

Stan would not do that.
Unless Stan was trying to get OSA from us then yes he might do that 🙂

Karim sat in the row behind us at the MU VU Game. I saw a bad sign but many good signs which I can not get into but mostly good things.  Heard he is the most talented and best out there for us yet. He can add many wins. Have no idea where he chooses but hopefully he goes with the good things he saw and chooses Marquette.

The only thing that has been stated on here was that Mane and his mom had a great time at the game.  It was noted, because they were cheering and into the game where most recruits stare at their phone, stretch, and yawn.

So if Mane goes elsewhere, maybe we could finally put to rest the notion that “being into the game” or “just looking at their phone” actually means something.

settle down champ......I sat next to Cain during his visit/game.
He wasn't into the game and stared at his phone the whole game.
Committed shortly after.
Wondering what the 'bad sign' was from Kame.  Hadnt heard any of that.  But, you be you Sultan.
