What is your outlook for our 2015-16 season. This assumes Luke is healthy by the start of the season.

The poll only allowed me to select up to 6 options. So I made sure to cover all my bases.

No chance at a sweet 16? Elite 8? Final 4?

I know I have it covered this year.   I voted for my top 6 choices.

I'm not a season ticket holder for the first time in over a decade, and I believe that will negatively impact the team.

Like Tower and Bricky, I also voted "all of the above."

Being a little crazy is like being a little pregnant.  Anything above win one game in the NCAA is more than a little crazy, so why not just go for it.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I was not one of the twelve but I remember an MU coach saying the best thing about freshman is they become sophomores. We will be hurt by lack of quality  D1 experience. Having said that we will see a winning season and significant improvement but a run in the NCAA is unlikely in MHO unless we get some JC's or transfers that can play this year.

For the record, unless HEllenson is the real deal and at least two other freshmen make significant contributions, MU doesn't go back to the dance.   That is a big ask for teams not named Kentucky.

Why does it need to be a frosh? If JJJ or Sandy make a jump whilst Duane and Luke continue progression I believe it's possible.

Duane, JJJ, Sandy, Luke, Wally.    If they all improve and Henry is the real deal, that is still just a 6 man rotation.   Ergo, at least two of Carter, Haanif, Amin, and Heldt need to contribute so that there can be an actual 8 man rotation and not just 8 scholarship players so everybody plays.

Absolutely all valid points.  I'm a little more optimistic (Maybe wishful thinking) about the freshmen and the returning players.

We will be Bigger and have more scorers, 3PT shooters, Drivers, and more proficient FT scoring.  I'm looking for better passing and an increase from 14-15 seasons assists 479 and 3 players (Derrick, Carlino, and Duane) accounted for 43% of the total.  I'm hopping for a substantial increase with us being bigger on the offence rim.

Wojo and staff (Less Johnson) with have a year under their belt.

Anyways, as someone said, "In matters of opinion, debate is pointless, take it for what it is and move on"

I'm going to aim low and say NIT appearance.  That way, I'll be pleasantly surprised by the freshman we have this year (and the subtractions from last year).

And I can't believe mind altering drugs aren't legal either!

My gut is this team may be good enough to make the NCAA tournament and maybe win one game depending on seeding. But unless our freshmen are the real, real, deal, we won't go deep. We're going to lose head-scratching games that we all think, "what the....?" And we'll likely surprise people too with some very outstanding games -- are you watching Villanova, because we are!

If you take the nearly a dozen games or so last year where we faded in the final few minutes and assume  a deeper bench, Henry and Luke as a team and more guard strength, we should win more than a few we lost last year and be good enough for a tournament berth.

I'm excited for where we are. We're in much better shape than we were a year ago and the future is extremely promising.

Goose

I think they have a chance to win couple of games in NCAA. The young guys will get playing time early and that is a plus to me. Also, I really think that Luke will have big year next season.

This makes the most sense. Obviously, the above poll is made up of optimistic MU homers and is not scientific. Just over 50% believe we will make the dance and win at least one game. That is a tall order coming off a 13-19 season with a coach that has not yet proved that he can do the X's and O's. While I love the Warriors as much as anybody as a life long fan, for the dance to happen, we will have to either get huge contributions from newcomers and/or near All-American performances from Wilson and Fischer. But hey, we can dream, ai'na?

Anyone want to get more specific about 15-16.

To make this a little more interesting, and it being so early, the playing field is now level for everyone.

1)  What 5 will make the most contributions all thru the 15-16 season?  (Only list 5 makes it much more difficult)

2)  Any disappointments?

My 5

1) Henry
2) Luke
3) Duane
4) Sacar
5) Traci

No Disappointments.

Your first 3 seem the most obvious. Sacar and Traci are much more difficult to predict, given they are frosh. Of course, so is Henry, but much more heralded. I would put JJJ in there, and maybe Traci, but that is a lot to expect of a Freshman playing the point.
