Well, if it results in 5 NCAA bids, two Sweet 16s, an Elite 8, A Big East title, back to back 14-4 conference records in his first six seasons I'll "enjoy" Wojo's recruiting equally. If he does better, I'll enjoy it more.

I enjoyed the hell out of S16-S16-E8.

Those who now say they didn't either are liars or non-fans.

All that being said ...

Thrilled with what Wojo has done on the recruiting trail and looking forward to the rebirth of Marquette hoops!

I enjoyed it as well, despite some of the nonsense that was going on behind the scenes.  Of course, the fatal flaw in this argument that people are making is that all of Buzz's players were athletes first, which is not the case.  Jimmy Butler was a helluva a basketball player first, with offers from Kentucky, etc.  Some of the other kids on MU were also outstanding basketball players who were also good athletes.  Having said that, we also had our share of really good athletes where basketball was secondary.  I'd prefer it the other way around.  I also look forward to our graduation rates improving.....which a number of people enamored with Buzz didn't seem to care much about.  Just win baby.

Exactly. Agree on all counts. Go get em, Wojo.

Screw the liars and the faux fans.

Yup
So....

Alot of recruits are great players and not great students. And some are great students but can't play a lick.

But in both cases they get better once they come and get acclimated to a certain University.

But as a fan what does being a "good student" really have to do with you or me or basketball? It's what you want for sure, and it is a great standard to set, but can they help you win BIG?

Most kids who are the "best players" or the top recruits do not come to be "good students" but "Good Pro's." And there is nothing wrong wtih that either...it enhances the Universities portfolio as well if not more so...in many respects.

And there are some colleges if not many that don't even care if the recruit is a good student or not as they [coaches and administrations] profit from them being there in "other ways."

I myself applaud the recruits either way. Welcome Sam! He will have to get stronger...hope he has a healthy and productive senior year.

Wojciechowski joined the Hauser family for a cookout that included a number of brats and some beverages that Milwaukee has been known for.

The Golden Eagles coaching staff then unveiled a booklet that mapped out Hauser's entire Marquette career should he opt to sign with Marquette. One of the first pages in the binder was a front page of a newspaper with the headline, "Hauser commits to Marquette."

On Sunday night, those words proved prophetic as Hauser announced on his Twitter account that he had indeed committed to Marquette University after an official visit to the campus over the weekend.

"It was the right time, I knew it was the right place for me," said Hauser, who had hinted at a summer decision in regard to his college destination. "Right from the beginning, Marquette was the first to offer me a scholarship.

"He believed in me and it's nice to know a coach believes in you. I believe in him that he can develop me into the type of player I want to become."

Also:
"They think I have a bright future and I'm a unique player who can be really, really good and maybe play beyond college," Hauser said. "That's something I want but I know I have to work really hard."

It's the whole package.  APR rates are important, or you can be prevented from participating in the post season like UCONN did a few years ago.  Thus, getting good players who are also good students who will graduate is a good thing for the program and the university.

Welcome to the MU Family, Sam!

Many will be watching you have a great senior season!

There was always the fear that this year's incoming class was a fluke. That somehow Wojo got lucky.

The Hauser commitment is huge. Shows Marquette is playing in the big leagues. That Wojo is for real on the recruiting trail.

Nice get .. now what's next?

MUWarrior4Life

Welcome 2 Warrior Nation Sam!!!! What an amazing weekend for the program, things are looking UP for MU!

MU82

Hauser visits Virginia, a wonderful university with a pretty campus in a mostly good-weather locale. Virginia is coached by a proven winner and has been on outstanding team for several years with legit Final Four aspirations. One weekend later, he visits Marquette and commits to Wojo.

Ellenson visits Marquette and commits to Wojo, canceling his visit to Kentucky, the No. 1 college program in the nation the last few years.

Moral of the story: We all should stop trying to read into the order of a recruit's visits.

Golden Avalanche and Boone think Sam made a bad decision.  Pity.
