Got to talking with the family during Easter about the best teams the current big east teams have ever had and how they'd stack up against each other.  Curious of everybody's opinion.

Georgetown's 1984 team I feel is probably the best team any of the Big East programs have ever put on the court.

Nova I argued was best in 2009 as the year they won it they barely made the tournament.

Depaul with Aguirre

SJU with Mullin

Xavier with David West.

Hall's runner up team

Providence with Donovan

Butler's Hayward team

Creighton last year

I didn't know where we stood with who our best team ever was or where we'd fit in. I assumed it was the team that was undefeated and lost to Ohio State in the NCAA tournament but don't know where I'd rank them since I don't know the SOS, who was on the team, etc.

I would guess the 1972-73 team would probably be our representative. Before my time, but I believe that's the team that was undefeated and #1 when Jim Chones declared for the draft.

Jim Chones, Bob Lackey, Larry McNeill, Allie McGuire, and Marcus Washington. George Frazier first off the bench. Have to think they'd be right there with 1984 Georgetown. Probably some of Al's other teams would be worth mentioning, certainly 1974 when they lost the NCAA Title game to NC State.

Depaul won the NIT in 1945 with George Mikan back when that meant as much as winning the NCAA Tournament so I might say that team for them.
