Been thinking about this day for a while. Kind of bummed, no TV here.

Matt, feel badly it was such an unsuccessful year for MU. I didn't realize it would be this bad, and perhaps you did not either. Thanks for your input, and the Creighton win. I think if there had been a better angle, we could have added a Georgetown victory.

As for Juan and Derrick, I can still remember being excited about Juan's mix tape and heading down to the Hotchkiss School to check out Derrick - seems like only yesterday. You've been through a lot, and perhaps you didn't live up to expectations - but that's more the fault of those of us having expectations that were perhaps too optimistic than it is yours. Your four years were rather tumultuous, but you two hung in there. Derrick, I hope you didn't read this board because the crap on it about you was relentless. You both worked your asses off and strove to represent MU well. Even you harshest detractors cannot question your effort, hard work, and loyalty. Here's hoping that those same traits serve you well in your futures.

Anyone there who can comment on how the ceremony was?

I just did. Lasted about three minutes. Marched them out, had them stand by portraits, and done. No videos or comments by anyone. Really poor.

That's how most schools do it. MU has been the exception under Buzz.

Maybe we got spoiled by Buzz, but I was disappointed with this senior day. No speeches, just didn't connect with the seniors or coaching staff. This feels emblematic of the weak game presentation this year.

I suppose that's possible, but I've been to senior days at over a dozen schools, including some at the D2 level. Everyone of them at least have a speech from the coach.

Not just Buzz .. Crean did it too.  Can't remember back to Deane's senior night games.

It was always nice to hear from each kid, and the coach.

Real shame this year.  I mean, yeah, the Win/Loss record is awful, but those seniors got shafted.

No--WTF is wrong with you? Matt was here a year, the others 4 years. The other two had lesser talents, which I have posted about many times---but never questioned their effort, which is the distinction. Now that it is crystal clear for you--have at it! WTF is wrong with you?????

Got it--great explanation!  ::)
