1988-89 Marquette University campus map by mykldnovak, on Flickr

One thing is made apparent by this historical gem... the overuse of Comic Sans has been going on a lot longer than most had originally thought.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Well, seeing as this map was done in cartoon form, this is actually  one of the extremely rare times the use of Comic Sans is appropriate.  Besides, I am not so sure that this lettering wasn't done freehand.  I will have to go home and look at my full-size copy.
Have some patience, FFS.

The Marquette Map has been updated with Real Chili.  Check out marquette-map.artistwebsites.com to see the new version of the map.  Get your map today and help support a MU alumnus and the scholarship fund.  Thanks!

BZZT!  Comic Sans was designed/released in 1994, a few years after that map was drawn.

There's still one at 25th and State.

Yep...and caddy corner from...Ricky's.  Pretty sure this was where CTC was going when he got pulled over going the wrong way on a one way street.  Better to give than receive, so you can receive when you give across the street, I'm really a badger fan?

Seriously though, you really didn't have to go to trouble of looking it up.  It was a joke.

I love marquette but in all honesty, we have to have one of the ugliest campuses in the nation.

Eh.

It's an urban campus that has done a lot with the space it has given it's hemmed in on two sides by a freeway.

The one thing that Marquette should have handled better is designing new buildings with some architectural consistency.

The last building that's outside the overall campus theme is Cudahy.  Since then, pretty much everything is somewhat related in appearance.

Huh?  How many urban private schools have you visited?  Or land grant public schools?  Go see Western Illinois if you want ugly.

You have apparently never seen UIC, or any other campus that was primarily built during the Brutalist period of architechture.

Right.  I am talking prior to then.  Not much Marquette can do about it now, but if you could turn back time...

Words are like weapons they wound sometimes.

I didn't really mean to hurt you I didn't wanna see you go I know I made you cry, but baby

If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
I'd take back those words that hurt you
 And you'd stay
If I could reach the stars
I'd give them all to you
Then you'd love me, love me
 Like you used to do

If I could turn back time

There are plenty of better campuses, but given the urban setting, there are many that are way, way worse...

One thing is made apparent by this historical gem... the overuse of Comic Sans has been going on a lot longer than most had originally thought.

My parents just went though a bunch of old pictures and distributed them to the "right" kids.  There were several pictures of my dorm room from Sophomore year (West!) and this map was prominently featured on the wall.  It reminded me of this thread.
