MU Height in 2015 Vs 2015 NCAA field.
« on: March 16, 2015, 07:36:01 PM »
So I got bored and decided to put off my grad school paper and decided to finally sign up for this glorious site.. then decided to throw together my first post. Rip me if you must, laugh if you will, but this is a random thing I put together...

Lets pretend (I am sure I'm wrong) that this will be our starting lineup next year (going tall):
Traci C: 6'0"
Duane: 6'2"
STJ: 6'7"
Henry: 6'11"
Fischer: 6'11"

This lineup is bigger than all but 17 of the 2015 NCAA tourney starting lineups (bigger than 51 others for the math idiots like myself).
The 17 that are equal or bigger:
BYU, Purdue, Kentucky, Valpo, Texas, Wisconsin, UNC, Arizona, UC irvine (7'6" center skewed this), Providence, UVA, San Diego State, Utah, Georgetown, SMU, Iowa and Gonzaga.

I am well aware that height does not equal talent, but it is a nice comparison from where we were coming into, and mid way through this season.

Welcome to the board.   Insightful post.   You will get over that.  ;D  Good luck with your paper.    Nit-picking, I doubt STjr starts at the 3.   More likely Sandy/Wally (6'6") or  JJJ/Cheatham (6'5")    But you make a good point.   Next year, MU will be a lot taller than this year.

Height of G's not as meaningful in context of 5 on the floor.

Please estimate effective height for 2015 & compare to the 2015 field.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Well, the context here is one is a 5* and the others are 4*. If playing to their abilities, that's a tough group to handle.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I'm going to reserve judgment until we get a closer look. I was very excited for the size across the front line of Otule, McKay, Jamil, and Gardner. We saw how that turned out.

I agree that Teve at the three is very unlikely.  that shouldn't keep Teve and Henry from both starting though, with Henry at the three.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
