You're big mistake is omitting Real Chili though.

Oooops.  I meant to ask that of the map maker....I mean, if you left Real Chili off the map, the whole thing is suspect.

Nice rendering of Gesu, but without the bars and Real Chili, the campus is unrecognizable to me.

Does anyone else have the cartoon map that was done around 1990 and has the "new " AMU and says that Brooks is the "future site of the Marquette Computer Center"?

We had it professionally framed, and it hangs in our hallway.  jsglow jr and warriorchick jr marvel at how much campus has changed since then....and so do we.
Have some patience, FFS.

Looking at it right now in the home office.   I had not noticed the "future site of the Marquette Computer Center" until just now.

Well done topper.  It's at the top of the steps in our house, right outside both kids' bedrooms hanging there since before either was born. Now that I think back, why did I waste gas doing prospective college tours?   ;D

Take a closer look, Chitown.  Note that Humphrey Hall is "Childrens Hospital", for example, or that all of the real estate that faces north on Wisconsin Avenue west of Haggerty Hall (er, the Engineering Building) is different.

I appreciate the feedback!  Real Chili will be added in the next few days- it is definitely a campus landmark.  I will post an update on this board once it has been added and posted to the website (marquette-map.artistwebsites.com).  Please spread the word about the map to all your MU friends and family.  Thank you!

One thing is made apparent by this historical gem... the overuse of Comic Sans has been going on a lot longer than most had originally thought.

Well, seeing as this map was done in cartoon form, this is actually  one of the extremely rare times the use of Comic Sans is appropriate.  Besides, I am not so sure that this lettering wasn't done freehand.  I will have to go home and look at my full-size copy.
Have some patience, FFS.

Eh.

It's an urban campus that has done a lot with the space it has given it's hemmed in on two sides by a freeway.

The one thing that Marquette should have handled better is designing new buildings with some architectural consistency.

The last building that's outside the overall campus theme is Cudahy.  Since then, pretty much everything is somewhat related in appearance.

You have apparently never seen UIC, or any other campus that was primarily built during the Brutalist period of architechture.

One thing is made apparent by this historical gem... the overuse of Comic Sans has been going on a lot longer than most had originally thought.

My parents just went though a bunch of old pictures and distributed them to the "right" kids.  There were several pictures of my dorm room from Sophomore year (West!) and this map was prominently featured on the wall.  It reminded me of this thread.
