I have watched several DePaul games already this year.  I honestly haven't the faintest clue as to why and/or how Oliver Purnell and Jean Lenti-Ponsetto still have their jobs.  DePaul has not made any improvements under Purnell, and the future looks even weaker.  He hasn't recruited well and he hasn't coached up any of the players he gets.  I count Billy Garrett Jr., their one solid player, as an exception because he hired Billy Garrett Sr. as an assistant coach.

I used to feel bad for DePaul because they could never get it together in the Old Big East.  Now, with just 10 teams in the conference, we need every team to play well in order for the conference to succeed.  They have become an anchor to the other 9 schools in mens basketball.

My hope is that they are waiting to clean house in preparation for their new stadium opening (which is still not near campus, but hopefully they can get more than 1,200 people at games).  My fear is that Ponsetto has a job for life, and that she will continue to drain the resources for mens basketball into all of the other womens sports.

I like the South Loop as much or more than the next guy, but I don't see any improvement due to the arena change.  The Alumni don't live downtown so Rosemont is probably better as is.  As for the students... still a long red line/green line trip back to Lincoln Avenue.

DePaul gets a new venue, but changes nothing.

DePaul students live all over the city not just around campus.  Very different than MU like that

So probably just as many out west as in the South Loop?

ChitownSpaceForRent

If I had to guess, most Depaul students live in Lincoln Park just off of the Fullerton red line stop. I always see them over there in those apartments.

Probably I have tons of friends who went to depaul who stayed in oak park, my ex girlfriend and her friends lived up by loyola despite being depaul students. I had an intern from oak lawn who goes to depaul and lives down there. It's more of a commuter school
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

We may go to Shoeless Joe's or Toby Keith's beforehand, but I'll be there with my wife (also an '84 alum) and a friend ('88 alum) and his wife.  I'll be the guy in the long sleeve gold MU shirt.  ;D

Will be there as well. Perhaps some pregame at Toby Keith's if that is the case with validation of parking and a shuttle.  Sitting in Section 111, Row J

Excited to paint the place gold!
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Avenue Commons

I plan on making the trip. 4pm tip is kind of awkward tip time. But fortunately Mrs. Avenue Commons gave me the green light.

Go Marquette.
