Luke had a great game, he and JJJ changed the flow entirely when they came in but I thought Juan was doing everything on the court. He was even helping to break the Morgan State press early on opening up the Carlino 3's to get the team rolling...Juan Anderson is my pick.
Juan could not guard #34/Blossom.  Most of his  baskets were in transition off steals and his 3-pointer was off a great pass from JJJ. As well as the 1 of five from the charity stripe. Gotta go with JJJ and Luke.

Toss-up between Juan, JJJ, and Luke.  I have to eliminate Juan due to the missed free throws (1-5).  Jujuan had some really nice offensive plays but tiebreaker goes to Luke for the blocked shots and rebounding.

Fischer.

Dominated physically, statistically and by his mere presence on the court.

Folks love to throw the "difference-maker" term around, but IMHO he is the Warriors' first real difference-maker since the start of last season because he absolutely changes a game defensively while also being a factor offensively.

MU is very average without Fischer, with him, we have a shot at the NCAA's. My game vote is for Luke and his continued development as the season wears on is the key as to if we make any noise this year.

Okay, Sandy had a nice game off the bench, but the kid didn't score until over halfway through the second half when the game was well in hand. I feel that our totally made up award should at least go to someone who affected the game when it was still in contention...even if that was only about the first five minutes.
The game was over, when we won the tip. Basically, it was never a competitive game.

Give it to Luuuuuke already.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Had to go with JJJ.  Played a good game, and showed us how fast he really is.

Luke, and Juan played very well too.

I think any time a critical piece of a team is missing, it will become sorely evident.  With no Junior or Vander Blue last year Marquette was only mediocre.  Hence, if they were present your logic would state that those should be the SOTG the majority of times since MU is only mediocre without them.

You could replace "Fischer" with "Juan," "Derrick," "JaJuan," "Duane," "Steve," or "Matt," and you'd still be right.  Our roster is small enough that losing anyone except possibly Sandy would make us a mediocre team this season.

Great picture of JJJ, he is a fun kid to watch.

We have only 8 players so everyone is important, but Luke is head and shoulders above whoever is our second most important player.

Not true, Fischer brings very important aspects of the game that no one else on this roster comes close to bringing. We operate as a team at a different level when Fischer is in the game.

That wasn't my point but I blame my wording. I thought he was SOTG.

Never denied that Luke brings unique skills.  Still, with a roster of 8 (and for the most part 7), your original statement could easily apply to anyone in the regular rotation - that we're likely a very average team if we lose any of them. Just look at the SOTG list so far....

I see your point, definitely couldn't lose Luke, Juan or Steve. I think we could possibly absorb a guard injury and still be effective but point taken.

Do you think he started out with a large headband so he won't have to keep sliding father it up his head as he goes bald?
