That could be one nice additional factor, if we play really well with Luke added--the committee should discount the early season losses for being without him.

Yes - this is key.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Providence beat Florida State, Notre Dame, and Yale in consecutive games.  Now they lost by 9 to BC and 10 to Brown.  Ick.

Now they beat URI.  Quite the erratic team.

Unfortunately Georgetown came up short in a chance to get a signature win against Kansas.

BE just keeps racking up wins.  CBS with four BE teams in its top 18: Villanova (7), SJU (15), Butler (17), Georgetown (18).

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/rankings/top25

Big games this week:

Tue Villanova vs. Illinois (in NYC)
Tue Seton Hall @ Wichita State
Wed Georgetown vs. Kansas

And some not so big, but would help to get wins:

Wed Providence vs. Rhode Island
Sat Xavier @ Mizzou
Sat Creighton vs. St. Mary's

Well, the conference is doing what it is supposed to at this point during the week.  Holding serve, but both G-town and the Hall fell short on their chances for some nice additional signature wins for the conference.  As it is, Providence has the only remaining non-conference game against a currently ranked opponent (Miami at home on 12/22).  Otherwise, we'll just have to hope everyone keeps racking up wins to keep raising the profile of the league going into conference play.  Get Nova, Butler, St Johns, Georgetown, Seton Hall all higher in the rankings to give the rest of us some targets in conference play.

Well, Nebraska just lost to a team called Incarnate Word. Couple that with the debacle in Ann Arbor and the Big10 is not getting better any time fast.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I really hope we become "team bubble" this year and this all becomes relevant, but right now Pomeroy has us 9th in the Big East and the 8th team is 56 spots higher (#53) than us. Luke better be really good.

Honestly, it's not just how good Luke is, but how good he is for us. An effective big man could average 5/5 and make mountains of difference if he helps seal the lane for drivers, give a threat of altering shots on defense, and allow guys like Steve, Juan, Sandy and Jajuan to play in more natural positions. I still think he could have made mountains of difference for Deonte. Unfortunately, we'll never know :(
