Would Buzz have survived this year?
« on: November 24, 2014, 11:25:00 PM »
Not sure Buzz would have been able to coerce double digits win from this year's team.  Perhaps he knew he wouldn't have been able to leave on his accord after two terrible seasons.  This year is like O'Neill's first season except without Tony Smith.  The 2014-15 season will be a trying one.  Let's hope the younger guys grow over the course of the season.

This team would look radically different if Buzz were still here. At least 2 transfers out that have been regular contributors, and we'd have Shayok, Hill, and Pierce. Decent chance Willie Atwood would be here, quite possibly Shane Henry too. We would look much better at this point if Buzz were still here.

Agree with Brew but even as it stands given the current roster Buzz would be 3-1 right now.

Correct.   The personnel that would have been here had Buzz stayed is not the personnel that is here.

and we wouldn't have Henry and the sixth ranked recruiting class for next year.

I choose 2-2 with Wojo.

I agree completely. We wouldn't have Henry, Heldt, or Cheatham. I'm fine with where we're at. Just pointing out that this team would look massively different with Buzz at the helm.

Well because in the years that they coached they brought us 10NCAA appearances and 3 NITs including a final four, elite 8, 2 sweet 16s and two conference championships combined.  I mean yes they both suck for leaving and have personality flaws and I'm hopeful for the future but I think the "woodys" come from the things I listed there.

Yeah, but they didn't look the good dentist in his eyes when he shook his hand.  That's more important than anything.
