For those watching the Kentucky-Kansas game
« on: November 18, 2014, 10:18:54 PM »
This is a block party watching Kentucky versus Kansas.  As of this post, Kentucky has more blocks than Kansas has two point field goals.  Really have to think twice about going to the hoop against them.

They have now played three games, and two of the three games they have more blocks than 2-pt fields allowed.

They are huge.  Their starting 5 (under multiple scenarios) would be the tallest starting 5 in the NBA.

Las Vegas (whose odds are statistically unfair to their advantage) is paying 3 to 2 on Kentucky. Fair odds are probably 2:1 or 5:2, so you'd be ripping off anyone who took Kentucky at even money. That said, UK has the shortest odds (especially this early in the season) in a long time.

As they should.  Most talented team by far.  One thing I admire about Coach Cal is that despite the amazing talent, somehow he has been able over the years to get these kids to buy into their roles.  Half that team would be the #1 guy on most top 20 teams, no worse than #2, but at UK some of those guys are not only not starting they are like the #8 guy.  That's impressive.

They should be the favorites to win it, they probably will win it.  I'll still take the field in a crap shoot environment.

One more time. Saying you will take a bet that is stacked in your favor is looking for a sucker, trying to pick someone off. It's like offering to sell AAPL at 116 when it's offered at 115. Or offering someone MU +8 last night when the real line is 11.5. Are you looking for a pigeon or a fair wager?

Once opponents saw the blocks to FG ratio, you can bet your bottom dollar they're going to rarely drive the ball so it can be contested.

Weird things happen in the tourney all the time. Some underdog gets crazy hot...UK starts to get frustrated...and suddenly you have an upset.

So both UK teams will be frustrated?   ;)  That's what sucks about them.  They have 2 teams they're putting on the floor.  They can swarm with defense due to their high energy levels from playing two units.

Kentucky with 12 blocks and Montana State with 10 two point field goals tonight.  That makes 3 out of their first 5 that has happened.
