Having watched the NCAAT and Buzz on the half time shows I honestly can't decide if he's a complete hypocrite or if he justifies everything he's done through delusions of grandeur therefore finding nothing wrong with this current departure.

It's the latter.  He's the foremost authority on life.  Gives the pitch that he knows all there is to know about life to recruits, during every interview he tells everyone the facts of life and how he seamlessly applies this knowledge to everything he does.
