Hopefully Broeker will use the free time to start on the schedule for next year, so he doesn't have to use the lame excuse about limited dates being available and bad luck to explain why we played five 300+ RPI teams when nobody else in our conference except Butler had more than one.

On the flip side, if we had an OOC schedule like, say, Gtown, we would have had more losses.

I'm cool with playing the softest cupcakes around, but only if we use that time to get our guys (eg Dawson) built up for conference time and the BE tourney.

nyg

All they had to do was win a few of the following:

Ohio State
Arizona State
San Diego State
Wisconsin
New Mexico

Didn't do it.  Lost them all....

I would be right when I said after the GT win, that may be the last time we see MU win until November of 2014.

Jake Thomas ‏@JakeThomasTwo3 7m   Well aint that some sh..

This tweet seems to be kind of telling about this team's attitude. We were 17-15 in a disappointing conference and our players thought the NIT was a lock. If that's the case, they are even more delusional than MU Scoop posters. Sadly, the light bulb still does not seem to have clicked on. Even worse, Jake was one of our headier players this season.

Frees up Buzz for some studio work for CBS/Turner during March.

Marquette had an RPI of 90. Highest at-large RPI in NIT was West Virginia at 87

Yep, and maybe re-think not using our pre-season games on closed door scrimmages, I am sure they have their place, but actual game time does too.  I enjoy watching MU throwing a local DIII team a bone and working out some kinks as well.

Bad.

Don't think I would like to be at home with Buzz tonight. >:(

Someone said he should discuss the season with his mentors. Good idea. Think he also needs to talk to next year's players, the future, his commitment to success, etc.

He needs to get away for a few weeks and decompress. Then start the road back slowly with input from others, reflection, objectivity ...

We are rooting for him!  :)

Bad.

Care to elaborate?
Creighton, Nova, Xavier, Providence all had exhibition games on the schedule.

Scrimmaging against a real opponent is much more valuable than playing fucking Whitewater.

They could have been really creative and shipped us to WVU.  Now that would have been interesting.

It's not an opinion. Every team would do it, but some don't want to sacrifice the money.

Then you obviously are in touch with people who make those decisions at MU.  Nice to have such inside information.  And if you don't then yes it is just your opinion.

Seems to work for many successful teams though.   Florida, Wisconsin, Duke, UConn

I F UCKING HATED this team
It's mercifully over

I hope the team gets to go watch the tournament at the BC and to just fully grasp how pathetic that it is

And yet you endured without feeling the uncontrollable urge to come on MUScoop and constantly whine, and that is to be commended.  Many others fell short.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

My only regret is not being able to watch Gardner in a Marquette uni one more time.

I'll second that.

That's the fate they chose for Georgetown.

edit: maybe it's at gtown, I didn't look it up, and don't really care enough other than to know they're playing.

No inside information needed. It was widely publicized when the scrimmages were allowed that they were widely popular for coaches, but the ADs were pulling back due to season ticket holders.

If you think there's value to playing Strich then you do fit in with the rest of the new idiots around here.

Might be a little harsh, but I can understand where you're coming from.  I just never had the emotional attachment to this team like the past few years' teams.  They were just never much fun to watch.  I guess bad PG play will do that...

Atticus

I can't help but think about Buzz's last post game presser this year. At the time, I thought he was inadvertently taking shots at the NIT. So, I guess Buzz still won't know how teams receive an invite to that tournament.

Bad PG play, bad SG play, bad SF play, bad PF play, bad C play...bad team.
