This performance by Jamil is why MU fans get so frustrated with him.

This guy can be an NBA 2nd rounder...if he wanted to be one.

Good game for DW! You can see why DW plays over Dawson.

Amen.   But all of the good and the bad in one game.   He was awesome......and then he was awesomely dumb.   He can be so good.   But it is up to him.

But again...he can't put the ball on the floor.  That is his major problem.

I totally disagree with your inference that Jamil isn't playing hard.

Yes.  +1.

I have been saying this for two years.  Jamil can shoot.  He can jump.  BUT he's not quick.  If you get a defender up and into his face, he can't get around him.

That's not lack of effort.

I don't think he was inferring that.  When Jamil is "off", his head isn't in the game....he makes dumb plays.  When he is engaged, he is the best player on the floor.

Maybe not tonight.

See SJU game.
See Butler.
See Xavier.

In all of the TEN losses this season, except for two (4-6 Nova, 0-4 Creighton), Jamil attempted no more than 2 FTAs.

TWO FTAs.

That's a man who's not working hard to get to the glass, drawing contact, working the paint and is content settling for jumpers.

When Jamil settles for jumpers, that's usually BAD NEWS for MU's offense.

Couldn't agree more. I had a couple posts earlier this year saying how surprised I was at Jamil's one-on-one defense and how often he got beat. Yet he is an outstanding team defender and that is all about hustle and effort.

Fyi, Jamil had the flu for the St Johns game... Thus he sat the second half.

There definitely was an uptick in effort tonight, and it was illustrated by the way he rebounded. He went after the ball in a way I hadn't seen from him this season. Really good overall performance.

Is anyone able to find highlights of this game online? Seems crazy that it'd be on FS1 in primetime, for their supposed flagship conference, but not a highlight reel to be found...
