I have no idea what he said. Do you?

No. But it doesn't matter. Good or bad, she condones it.

Would have been better if he punched the guy's bitch. Lubbock is an epicenter of white power. No shock this happened in their arena.

Back that up. Can't just blow crap like that out your rear.  Its easy to play the race card in this situation without any information.  Upon ruminating on this, I find it hard to believe that a guy, so tied to the sport and an obvious big fan, would call out a racial epithet when he is there to enjoy the athletic endeavors of similar players. I still am open-minded until the truth comes out. If the guy ,indeed, did  say something despicable, he should be banned.

Upon further reflection while shoveling snow for an hour, I have changed my mind.   Slippery slope.   Unintended consequences.   Stand your ground laws.   Would not ultimately be a net good.

You're right of course. But that doesn't mean there shouldn't be consequences for exercising your right to free speech. I can walk into a bar and exercise my rights by finding the biggest guy in the place and calling him a pu**y. But I would have to expect he would exercise a couple rights of his own on my face.

This kind of fan makes me sick and I really don't care what happens to him. If you watch the tape, he and his wife were obviously enjoying the whole ensuing scene.

These are college kids and if this redneck d'bag doesn't know how to treat them as such, I really could care less what happens to him. Just too bad Smart is the one who will pay.

Brandx, I completely agree.

Smart suspended for 3 games.  Tech fan won't be at any of Tech's remaining games.

He claims to have only called him a "piece of crap"  ::)

Video.

Video is inconclusive at best. I'm sure there were many people in the stands yelling at that moment. No way to tell if it was Orr.

When you look at ESPN's video, whatever caused Smart to go off was after Smart was already standing. The GoPro video, we definitely hear "piece of crap", but that was while Smart was on the ground and getting up. Also, just from a cursory lip-reading of Orr just before Smart pushed him, he almost certainly did not say "piece of crap". He may have when Smart was on the ground. But he certainly said something different when Smart was standing in front of him.

Be the Difference Everyone.

By all accounts, the fan seems like a disgusting human being.

Marcus Smart overreacted. Its unfortunate, but I can hardly blame him.

melissasmooth

Well, Smart does look like a 'piece of crap,' but you could say that about a lot of players.

Its been well known in Big 12 circles that visits to Lubbock seem to coincide with some not so nice remarks toward certain players. There's plenty out there for you to find if you want to learn more.

But, really, there will be no conclusion to a "he said, he said" situation. I do find it curious that Orr is now "voluntarily" taking a leave from Tech basketball even though he's a massive donor, the "No. 1" fan, and is well known to opposing players and in YouTube videos for his "heckling" since he only called Smart a "piece of crap".

Not to be Elitists, but I read that Orr is an air traffic controller.  Decent pay but let's not call him a "massive donor."  T Boone Pickens and his support of Okla State ... that is a "massive donor."

Fair enough. Take out "massive". Though, relative to pay, I'll bet this "No.1 fan" has put a large percentage into Tech ball.
