Creighton up 21 5...5 minutes into the game. Creighton's Wragge has already nailed 5 3s from deeeeep. Team is 7-7 from 3. Fun to watch.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

He should watch the other teams play like we do!

Instead of judging a whole conference based off the struggling eagles.

Wraggie has 7-7 from 3 point land. With 10 min left in the half. Unreal

well yes. ball movement and PG play would help. So would having someone on our team capable of going 7/7 from 3.

Shows you how so many top teams are taking the best athletes, guys that dominate in high school because they have superior athletic skills.  Doesn't mean they are the best basketball players.

This is enjoyable to watch.

Creighton is 15-3

Thats not much of a mind blowing loss. . . If they lost to St Johns maybe but providence plays.

I agree. sometimes it's tough to tell though, isn't it? especially from a high school age kid. You could end up with an athlete who never translates to the next step or someone who excels. I would bet there's hundreds of examples on both sides of the spectrum in the last decade.

Creighton's defense makes me weary of picking them to win multiple march games

but man, if they are on don't even bother showing up I don't care if you are Arizona, Kansas, MU or Southern. You won't win.

Not usually a good recipe to win 6 in a row but any given game they are capable of beating anyone.

Exactly. They are steamrolling the #1 team in the conference and 4th team in the nation.....

This game will slow down. Obviously. But Creighton is legit shooting wise. Athletically not so much.... But Wraggie just hit his 8th 3 pointer.

I guess you missed the beatdown they put on us a couple weeks ago.

Yeah several times. They have one of the best offenses in the country, but have very suspect D. Theyre easily one of the top 20 teams in the country. Walter white explained it quite well a few posts ago.

I guess it just depends on your preference. Sure Creighton could beat any team if they're on from 3 - like tonight. But if they aren't hitting? And with suspect D? The good MU teams in the last few years could overcome poor 3pt shooting with good D and other ways to score. I'd rather have a team like that that can withstand an off shooting night.

A friend of mine coaches one of the state's better programs, is the son of a Big East coach, and played PG for Boylan loves McDermott's game planning. Watches and tapes every Creighton game. Says the CU game plan is a blueprint for aggressive traditional teams who can shoot it.

I wasn't going for any great insight here and certainly stating the obvious.  It was just an incredible performance.  McDermott called the dogs off with several minutes left.  They had scored over 80 with 10 minutes left in the game and against a good defensive team.
