I can understand why JJJ or Mayo should start before Jake.  But Deonte is a good rotation guy who can give a spark off the bench.  Gives up way too much defensively to start.

Not saying start him. Saying play him.

I do get reasons why Chris and Juan start. Tip mostly for chris. Just saying when people use defense as reason for not playing a lot. I point to runs even our "good" defenders allow. Mostly cuz they can't score.

Artie Green was the greatest dunker to ever come out of the NYC asphalt. A legend.

Then why did you respond to my equation about why Burton doesn't start with "No it equal why we keep losing."

Very confusing.

I think we all know the reason.

Burton looked like he understood his defensive responsibilities today.   also his responsibilities in the zone offense.

No.  The ceiling knows enough to get out of the way when Artie Green jumps.   ;)
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Artie is best dunker in MU history, but Burton might give him a run for his money. Both guys are best dunking off both feet and the power is unreal. I have that dunk in top ten all time.

I said him and JJJ need to get 25 minutes a game.

You seem to beat the dead horse of they don't deserve to play.

Yet we simply could not be any worse off.

Why you seem fine with 7-5 is what's confusing.

The defense is no worse with them in. The New Mexico game proves it once again.

Not worth the fight. The young guys are playing and will continue to play more. Any basketball person would agree with you. They are both high ceiling guys and will be fun to watch.

It's just annoying seeing people defend who we are currently playing and not playing

The lineups we have rolled with have produced the worst possible scenario of a record.

It could not be any worse. Just equally as bad, with key development

It would be extremely helpful if the two of you put your Marquette education's to good use and learned how to read.

I never said they shouldn't play.  I never said they shouldn't play more.  (Although 25 mpg is probably more than either deserve.)  I simply said his defense lapse *on the very next play* is why he shouldn't start.

Jesus....if you are going to argue with me, at least read what I write first.

I have read your posts and respect your opinion. You do not feel they deserve 25 minutes a game and agree...I would play them 30 or until they fouled out. No other option makes better this year or better prepared for next year.

Warhawk Warrior

What are you talking about -- 2 steals and three blocks!  Unofficially I think he had 5 blocks.

Why next year?  BE play hasn't even started yet.

Furthermore, how would "30 or until they fouled out" make them better, then 18-20 mpg when they can figure things out within the flow of the offense?

Indeed--except for the bad passes, it would have been a great game.

Anyone have a video of the Burton dunk? Am on vacation and couldn't catch the game.

Couple things:

1) Can you imagine 3 more years of strength and conditioning training under Todd Smith for Deonte??!  Wow.

2) Put this dunk in the Top 10 I recall seeing in my life - even crazier - he probably should have been given and And 1 on that as the defender was still moving, and set up even outside the circle.  His lift off point going off of 2 feet was insane - I'd estimate just 5 feet in from free throw line.

You simply cannot coach what we saw from DB today - the kid is going to be an absolute star.  A real chance to be a 3 and done player...see some Charles Barkley in DB.
