Yea you right. Lol

JJJ barely sees the floor he wasnt he a top 50 player coming out.

Is there a reason for this??!!

I mean i know JJJ Burton or J. Dawson parents arent coaches but look what cullen neal did tonite with an opportunity.

Did he make mistakes? Yes...
But he was out there. Gotta roll the dice sometimes.

New Mexico also has a really short bench...coach really has no choice but to play Neal. Buzz has proven that his system works, repeatedly.

"Dammit.  We're short.  Well, I guess I'll play my own son.  Cullen, get in there and don't make me look bad!"

One thing keeps Burton from starting, and that's Deonte Burton. On defense, he's woeful. Misses switches, doesn't keep up, doesn't have the lateral movement yet to stay with his man. That will all come, but until he figures it out, he'll continue to be painful to watch on the back end.

On the other end, he often has poor shot selection. Sometimes it's like Gardner, where he gets the ball, throws it up, and you have no idea how it made it through the hoop, but other times it's simply taking bad shots. He has the third highest usage on the team behind Jamil and Gardner, but is eighth in terms of offensive efficiency. He's a black hole when it comes to the ball. He gets it and he knows he's shooting it, the team knows he's shooting it, the bench knows he's shooting it, and the defense knows he's shooting it. He's good enough that sometimes he can get away with that, but other times, he's just throwing up an ill-advised shot when we have no one in position for an offensive rebound.

When Deonte learns to play team ball on both ends, he'll probably start. But right now he's playing his own version of make it, take it, where he makes a basket and then lets the other team take an open shot on the other end. Unfortunately, when he's in he's also playing miss it, take it almost as often.
