Jake Thomas with the late hustle play.

PTM:

You were pretty tough on Jake before the season started.  Glad to see you can give him credit when warranted.

Dr. Blackheart

Ernest Eugene as Cornerman of the Game.  Todd had a gusher.

jsglow

Davante but several guys played well including Juan, Jake and DeWil.

Jake more than anyone has been making us Scoopers eat our words this past week. Putting up 10.7 ppg, 2.7 apg, and 45% from three this week. I wasn't convinced he could be a legit threat at this level and saw him as a guy who could be a great system defender but not much else at this level. I hope he can keep this up, I love it when players make me eat my words.

Who was making the over/under on made 3's this year for Jake?

Would like to give it to Jake, who was probably our best defender today and shot well...did the right things.

But got to be Gardner.  When the offense was in trouble in the second half he came to the rescue several times.  Did all the right things deserves SOTG.

Please, did you see Jake in the ASU game,he got beat almost every time down! Gardner this game SOTG and a number last year. Games he was over looked because of the lack of minutes.

I really liked Juan's game today. Great on the boards and solid at the line. That said, Gardner should be SOTG. Juan and Jake honorable mention.
Great call. Anderson was phenomenal today, particularly right out of the gate

Davante.  But great games from Juan, Jake, Derrick and even Todd off the bench.

Agree that Gardner deserves SOTG.  I don't know why you are mentioning the ASU game.  Did you  see Jake's 'D' on the two outside shooters in this game? Solid.  However, JJJ got burned in picks which limited his playing time today.

Sitting about ten feet from Buzz today you could hear him yelling at JJJ 'pick, pick, pick' (or was it 'switch, switch, switch'?... hard to tell).  Never did that for Jake.

DG.  Lots of good play from his team mates today.  Good execution all the way around.

He's opening it up for himself underneath.  Sort of like a pitcher who hits a home run in support of his own win.  (Not teal, but still tongue in cheek)

BTW, Ox getting SOTG makes five different players for the five wins.  You've got to love that again this year MU is more a team that can hurt many ways then a team with a couple of guys you know you have to stop.  Although if Jamil wants to start dominating the STOG award, I wouldn't complain.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

while Ox contributed what we expect, Juan did a lot of what we need.

Juan

Though I'm still trying to figure out how Gardner missed that one layup, he definitely is the SOTG.

Props to Juan for providing serious energy, though. Sometimes, he gets going too fast, committing silly turnovers and that one dopey foul. But he really is a spark-provider. And I loved that he finally hit a 3.

Jake lifted us today, too, and I'm not often singing his praises.

I've got no problem being wrong about Jake. Now if some other posters around here could admit their mistakes.

GurneeHitchkr

Although DG was high scorer, I'm voting for Jake.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I liked Juan in this game. High energy, strong on the boards, and was playing way above the rim.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Gardner, but special props to Mayo for the best 2 1/2 minute streak of the season, on 5 consective MU possessions,  3 pointer, slicing drive for a layup, great pass to a cutting Burton for a lay-up, another great pass to Gardner for an easy bucket, then a 3-pointer.

This.  Mayo was incredible in that stretch.
