Indiana squeaks another one out tonight
« on: November 15, 2013, 08:40:58 PM »
Can't recall of this is an IU board anymore, seems like it.

They squeaked another one out tonight.  Game ended a while ago, so I was surprised to see the score not put up here yet by all the fans here.

Bennie Seltzer is the coach of the opposing team, Samford.

Rather than trolling a Marquette board over a cupcake Indiana game, shouldn't you be lecturing your fellow Kansas alums on what a dick and how slow ("University of Kansas") their most recent recruit is. You certainly would be all over this if an MU signee pulled the same stunt or referred to MU as "University of..."

Good Grief.

That's how I felt the other day...go figure.  I missed your "good grief" in that thread.  You should come around more often, maybe that silliness would finally stop...it is year 6 now.

Actually, I did.  Said it was a dick move by someone from Illinois, which shouldn't really surprise anyone considering where the kid is from.

Anything else?

I would have been more upset if he said Kansas University.

Huh? I'm not talking about a KU issue. I'm talking about you whining when people bring up Indiana or Crean... yet you find it OK to start posts about Indiana.

Not only a hypocrite, but a confused hypocrite. Sheesh.

Do I find it ok to start threads about IU....no.  Do I wonder why people continue to do it time and time and time again and nearly no one gets on them and to prove a point, I start one and people jump my junk....yeah, that's the hypocrisy Jay Bee.  It's not hard.

It was an illustrative example and proved exactly what I thought it would.  It's not what is posted, it's who posts it.

I would be a hypocrite if I was doing it all the time ON ANOTHER SITE to bag on MU, like people here do to bag on IU on a MU site.  That is not what I'm doing.  I am repeating what is done here to prove a point.  This isn't hard.

Anyone not realizing what CBB is doing here needs to take a long look in the mirror. A huge section of this board seems to revel in trolling Chicos, then act like butthurt babies when he gives it back to him. Heaven forfend what goes around actually come back around...

I think Stony Brook will give IU a stiff challenge today.  25-8 last year, four starters back.  I suspect if IU loses, a certain group of MU fans here will be the first to post it.  I suspect if IU barely wins, the same.  I suspect if IU wins handily, nothing will be said.

This is, afterall, an IU board when it is appropriate....apparently.

I4 is superior in talent and is at home. There should be no problem, although Stony Brook is a good team for their 'level'.

Glad you're hedging and providing excuses, though. Have you found any good reasons for the massive Crean buyout dollars in your mind?

If you and TAMU (who's new here) want to buy into his self proclaimed "victimhood" narrative, so be it. I guess all the moderators from the multiple boards from which he's been banned for life are in on the conspiracy. And all the posters he's fought with on all those boards for decades, too. How unlucky for him that people are constantly picking fights with him. A coincidence that defies odds.

I'm not saying Chicos is victimless, but you, Jay Bee, Ners, and numerous others go way out of your way to troll him. All the IU stuff is ridiculous. Threads that have no real place here pop up solely to draw Chicos into an argument, then when he defends his position, people jump all over him.

I'd be very curious to see what happened if Indiana was banned as a topic from this site. I wonder who would have a tougher time with it...Chicos, or all those that live to engage in IU-fueled debates with him.

I've noticed a theme lately...I make a point and some people seem to want to bash my job. Not sure how that's related, but I'll pass on the bait.

People get irritated and take it out wherever they can, whether that's on DeWil, Jake, Buzz, or Chicos.

For a bunch of brothers and sisters who have a great big common denominator, you're right, there's a whole lotta pissin' matches goin' on. BTW, got a great deal of respect for the smack you cats risk life and limb for on a daily basis.

I would have zero problem with it.  I was thinking 6 years later it would already have happened especially with MU's success.

Young talent is young talent.  You don't always know what is going to show up....see North Carolina today losing at home to Belmont as just another example....MU losing at UWGB last year, etc, etc.  Anything can happen.

IU won the game, but Stony Brook was scrappy just like they were last year as a NIT team that beat UMASS.  They will do well this year.

I think you paint with too broad a brush suggesting that threads pop up 'solely to draw Chicos into an argument.' Crean and I4 are brought up because he is a douche who used to coach at MU. Not suggesting Chico's unrelenting defense and others' desire to argue isn't at factor in some threads, but I would actually suggest the reality is those are the suggestion, not the rule. At this point, I view most Crean/I4 threads similar to Bo Ryan/UW-Madison threads.

Makes you wonder where all the Arizona or USC threads over the years were since K.O. was a douche and used to coach Marquette.  LOL

I don't think KO is a douche. He is acerbic. In the world of fighter pilots the acid test is would you want to sit down and crack a beer with someone. I think KO would be a great drinking buddy. I cannot in any way imagine anyone wanting to do that with Crean. Funny thing is, the Harbaughs might be entertaining but not Crean.

Knowing your Christian values, etc......I think if you knew you wouldn't say that about K.O, but that's merely my opinion.

Yes, he would be a great drinking buddy, no question.  I agree, no one would say that about Crean (or Buzz...doesn't drink).

I don't think anyone on this board would condone KO's lifestyle. That said, Jesus hung out with hookers and boozers. He preferred their company to that of the self important, I'm better than them phonies of his day. But what did he know about being a Christian, right?

I never met KO but I've seen his interviews and he strikes me as a real character (which is, of course, very different than saying he is a man of character. I have only heard suggestions here of his nocturnal hungers.

Let me say that some of the finest warriors I have known were probably not the best at controlling appetites but I trusted them implicitly to cover my six. The UCMJ is very clear on adultery, however, and I have had some quiet conversations over the past decade with a small number of men to cease and desist behaviors that were not compliant with the moral and ethical expectations of the United States Air Force. I always pointed out that if a man could not keep his word to his spouse how should his comrades view his commitments? But my only basis for having that conversation was the Air Force Core Values and not any personal beliefs.

At the end of the day I have always felt that people must make their own decisions and live their life accordingly. I leave the preaching to those who are so utterly convinced of the correctness of their way of thinking and insist on telling others how f#cked up they are. God knows there are already too many evangelists in this once great Republic, on both the left and the right.

Definitely an aviator. His Ascension was a thing to behold.
