SIAP but this Rivals article would make it seem like he is going to Miami:

Saltsburg (PA) Kiski School center/power forward Satchel Pierce took an official visit to Miami this past weekend.

Old article; he visted Miami October 24/25.

I lol'd at "Satchel in the bag," great job OP!

Has he visited here at all?

MUscoop? That's hard to say.

Marquette? No, he was supposed to visit this weekend, but has to re-schedule due to a team scrimmage. Buzz has had multiple visits to see him.

NersEllenson

Don't like the sounds of where this is going....good to be a team player and be there for a scrimmage....but think most teammates and coaches would understand you taking an official visit to a school of interest for an MU vs Ohio State game...

Only faith I have is that Mark Miller predicted him to MU a week or two back...but...17 year old kids can be very fickle.

Hard to imagine Miami's early season struggles thus far could influence him positively...and Jim Larranaga?  Good guy and coach, but Buzz to me has a lot more to offer...including how he and the squad just pummeled the favored Hurricanes in the Sweet 16.

Come on Satchel...we need you!

Regardless of the date, I don't see any of those quotes as gushing his love for Miami--if anything they seem more guarded to me.  Like, giving a good report to keep his options open while not committing him to anything.  The recruit version of coachspeak.

As for putting off his visit to MU this weekend--I think either interpretation could be valid.  Could be set on MU already, so the visit is more about enjoying the trip at the right time.  Or, could be his way of kicking the MU can down the road until after he's committed without totally tipping his hand.

Just have to wait and see on Friday...

One of these things is not like the other.

Right--old in the sense that that article was old news on the recruiting trail and most of the 247 predictions were made after that article.

That was the "trolling for hits" article alluded to in the previous thread. It's meaningless at this point.

When Mark Miller predicts someone is coming to MU, that gets me feeling about 99% certain it's a lock.

Looking forward to Satchel picking Marquette before making a visit here. Do the math, boys. He's announcing Friday, and planning to take a trip to Marquette in the next month. Why would he pick Miami or Pitt and still visit Marquette after Friday?

I'm not really feeling that good about this now.  You would think he wouldn't put off the visit a second time, especially a weekend where we play #10 Ohio St. at home.  Wouldn't a kid who commits on a Friday be excited to go to his future school and watch them play in a big game & cheer them on the day after?  My gut now says he is committing to Miami or Pitt and the scheduled visit to MU is just false hope.  We're all probably reading into this too much but I'm less optimistic now than I was earlier.

I'm afraid your logic is most intuitive of the situation....

I'm still feeling good about this one. Corey Evans knows pittsburgh recruiting and he still has Pierce coming to us.

He also has his first game Friday evening.  So perhaps if he has already made up his mind, he doesn't want to miss a game when he really doesn't have to.

Agreed, I think that also shows he's a good teammate and not so selfish that he would blow off one of his tram's games for a visit.

Corey Evans knows he is not going to Pitt, so MU is his next best guess.

Benny B

I sure hope Satchel appreciates all of the pessimism here... after all, he wants his moment - which he should get - and it wouldn't be as cool if a school's fans already had a consensus on him attending their school before he even made his decision.

That said, I think he's going to shock the world... it won't be UCLA, but it will surprise many.

And he didn't know his basketball schedule when his first visit was rescheduled?
