Buycks started for the Thunder at PG.

Otule's Glass Eye

Buycks the starting PG for OKC. Commentators praising him for his development as a point guard.

Nice drive and dish by Buycks.  5 assists already...second quarter.

JakeBarnes

Seems Jerel has an MCL sprain.  Not good for the rapid-fire games that are going to be played over teh next few weeks.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Up to 13 assists now. Announcers really talking about how well he is playing.

In other news, according to the announcers our coach is now Buzz Peterson who is watching the games.

Buycks interviewed after the game.  Also referenced Buzz at end of game for churning out great NBA prospects.

Link to the buycks interview. Great game on his part.i remember djo struggling in last years summer league too. Hopefully he can shake the butterflies and eventually make a roster.

Dunk The Ball Eric

Hasn't Dwight been interviewed after a summer league game before? Watching that felt very familiar. If he keeps putting up assist totals like that he might be able to stick around.

Bucks looked great in those highlights. Does he have an outside game, or is he primarily a driver?

State Street Warrior

According to the stat line it was another good game for Buycks today, 11 pts on 3-5 shooting (2-2 from 3) 5 assists and 1 turnover in 22 minutes.  Did anyone catch any of the game?

Looked pretty good.  Hit a pretty incredible 3 at the end of the game that brought OKC within striking distance for Jeremy Lamb to hit the Buzzer beater
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

If someone would have told me two years ago that Buycks would be looking better than DJO, i would have had a good laugh.

Dwight's stats look good so far.  Reggie Jackson started the second game after sitting out the first - he's on the Thunder roster and logged significant minutes in the playoffs because of the Westbrook injury.  Put up 4 points and 4 assists/7 TOs in five less minutes than Dwight.  Buycks will have a chance in Vegas as well.  Really gets your hopes up for a camp invite.

DJO bounced back big today. 8-14 for 22 points and 5 rebounds. Did have 4 turnovers though.

Actually got mentioned on SportsCenter, though only for his role in both of his assists to Olynyk.

Short write-up on DJO today:

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics/post/_/id/4705982/summer-notes-djo-is-magic?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Nice quote in there:
"He's a competitor, he plays hard, he's fast as can be, he's tough," said Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga, the head coach of the summer squad. "All those guys from Marquette, coach [Buzz] Williams does an incredible job of setting their habits, to play hard as can be. He's explosive. He's a very, very good player."
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

GGGG

He certainly is explosive in the open court.  I just wonder if he can function in an NBA half court offense given his lack of height.

DJO having another tough outing today.  He's getting the playing time though.

Just going off box.  Stats aren't everything - just hoping DJO played well.

Buycks played well again.  Highest +/- on the team.  Doing a little bit of everything.  I think Reggie Jackson is playing for his spot for backup PG in OKC - which is why he was definitely "shoot-first" today.  Sheesh.  35 pts and 1 assist.

Van getting some time today.

Just watched Vander play in summer league.  Played about 15 minutes and was 2 for 7 from field.  Did not play the point guard role, Casper Ware did.  Just a ho-hum Vander performance and I can't see how coaches evaluate any player, it is a one on one showcase.  Won't watch any further games, just not good basketball.

Went 3-4 from the line though.  so at least he's drawing fouls. Also nabbed 5 rebounds.
