Big 10 > BEAST
MU > Bucky

it's that simple...we'll be fine as long as we have buzz.

Except for redforemanwhatever, most of the comments were pretty balanced.

I skimmed through the last few pages in that thread. A lot of anger and hurt over there. Sultan shouldn't bother as he won't alter any opinions. Those people have a particular view of the world which they hold with absolute certainty. Life must be achingly stupefying when blessed with such perfection.

Best line over there:

If you cannot beat them (Butler, Marquette, Xavier, Creighton), belittle them.

Who cares. Why even go there, do u really expect to see anything positive regarding MU.

Cause its funny.

Actually, it's sad. Reminds me of 3rd grade where Little Johnny couldn't explain his strange feelings for Sally so he pulled her hair and said nasty things about her.

Most of those comments hold some merit. Our new league has to put up or shut up.

Big Ten will consistently be better in b-ball.  However, who will win a National Title first, the Big Ten or Big East?  It has been a long, long dry spell for the Big Ten.

Even longer for the NBE.

Yep. Let's not start bringing that up.

Think about this: The last time a NBE team won the whole thing, so did the Kansas City Royals.

We're gonna need to step-up.

Some. Certainly not most.

That Royals team was great. Brett, Wilson, Patek, White, McRae, Leonard, Quiz, Splittorff, Gubicza, Sabes, Black, Sundberg, and Balboni.

Oh I know. It hurts to know what we once were.

KC is a nice place. We owned a home in Brookside when my wife was teaching at KU. I used to run down Ward Parkway then around the Plaza before coming back through Mission. There was a great restaurant on the Plaza, The Bristol. But man was it hot in the summer. Great Q city, though. I liked Bryant's and Smokestack.

FIFY. Hit up Oklahoma Joe's next time you're in. Amazing.

Brookside to KU everyday is quite a commute. Great place to live though if parking in KC for a while.

I was wondering who left that scribbled note at the Al that said, "Will you teach me to play up-tempo? Check Yes or No"

It has been a long, long time since a bball-only school won a title, too.

She only went to Lawrence 2-3 days a week. She also started the Japanese program at William Jewell, hence her decision to buy in Brookside. It was an old turn of the century house. It had a buzzer button built into the floor in the dining room. I would press it when we had company, ordering my wife to fetch more wine.

They filmed Mr and Mrs Bridge (one of my favorite authors) in our neighborhood while she was there. Our house was on Valley Road between Ward Parkway and Wornall in the Country Club District. I used to fly an F 16 into Richards Gebauer (Dickie Goober) AFB where she would get me when I would come out to visit her. There was a hole in the wall bbq place in Hickman Mills I would always ask her to stop at. I remember her disgust as she would say, "You haven't seen me for two months and the first thing you want is BBQ??"

TAMU, Knower of Ball

That was a hilarious read. My favorite part was the list of Bucky losses to NBE teams in recent years.

I think top to bottom next year we will be one of the strongest conferences in the nation next year. Seton Hall and Depaul will finish in last but they are both on the upswing. Both are at least top 150 RPI teams. There will not be an easy game in the NBE next season.

Unfortunately, we don't have the premier program at the top. Us and Georgetown are great but neither of us is a blue blood. If Blue had stayed (let's not get into that again) we would be a top 10 team next year. If Whittington didn't get hurt I think Georgetown is a top 10 team. Our conference is going to collect a lot of 4-10 seeds.

I hope I am wrong. As was said earlier, we need to put up or shut up. We won't win any respect with 4-10 seeds and second round exits.

We should shoot for 5 bids, 1 1 or 2 seed, and 1 elite eight or higher. I would call that success

I don't think a bball-only school has ever won a title.
