Buzz really must be working hard to offer so many kids, I am sure this is how they got Johnson from Memphis.  It is great to have such a big recruiting budget to be everywhere.  In the
past even TC would try hard on a few kids, he lost out, MU lost out.  Buzz I am sure has priority recruits but those kids are being recruited by the heavy weights.  Somebody is going to
see that there is PT time at the center position.

Lattin is interesting.  His game is more like McKay's than Gardner's or Otule's.  He's thin, wirey, full of energy. 

Went off to Spain as a sophomore to play at a basketball academy over there...and apparently will be home schooled this year.

personally, I think someone needs to be at least 6'8 (6'9 is more my taste) OR over 220lbs to be considered a 'big'.

6'6 190lbs?  Come on, that has switchable written all over it.

The other factor at play yere is that we now have Verbal Commits and the use of Twitter by recruits to document every visit & offer.  That didn't exist five years ago, so we never really knew who really had offers or not.

While it seems like we have a lot more activity I suspect the activity was always there--just not documented anywhere.

Right, there are 3 players listed.  And they are all skinny.  Does anyone think that the 6'9 kid even plays like a 'big'?  Or are we just calling him a big because he is 6'9?  And from what TS said in his initial post here Lattin plays more like a switchable than a big.  So which is it?

I'm not sure what you mean by "plays like a big."  How I described McKay doesn't mean he isn't a big...in fact McKay is probably the starting post player in 14-15.

Davante plays like a big, Chris Otule plays like a big.  Jamil Wilson plays like a borderline big, but is more of a switchable player.  IMO, a big will have post moves, not afraid to be physical, work for rebounds. 

I was under the impression that McKay is more of a combo forward with some height.  He seems fairly quick off the dribble, and doesn't seem to play the post much.  But I guess that all I am really going off of is the small number of videos that I have watched of him.

There going nowhere without some type of physical presence in the middle.  McKay is not wide, tall, but not wide.  Steve Taylor would have to play center, not good.  Burton would then
be the small forward as he has some bulk.  Add Johnson or Mayo with the Wilsons.  It would not be a bad team, but I have confidence that they can find 1 power player to start.  Needs
another PF as a sub.

McKay is a hustle guy.  Going to get a lot of rebounds and get a lot of his points off those rebounds.  I don't think he is much of a shooter.

I've watched a lot of Lattin for a few years now - have always liked him (even though I LOVE** his Houston Hoops teammate Justise).

There's another topic here re: the "O'Bannon case"... NCAA attorneys actually talked to his grandpa (Texas Western star) and he gave helpful testimony for the NCAA (re: ESPN offering him big bucks to make a TV movie on Tex West'n).

Anyway, Lattin's an impressive shotblocker, always has been. Offense hasn't gotten to where you might want to see it, but I really like watching him play.

With Houston Hoops, he's got Winslow, Oubre and Jackson all on the floor with him.. all those guys with good size as well.. so he doesn't have to do as much.. but, he's a nice looking player. Think he'd fit in quite well at MU.
