Georgetown Support?

Is Georgetown the host for the games in DC?  If so I assume their season tickets holders would have been offered tickets.  I'd also assume they would cheer for us?

To me Marquette is a total joke. Ive never seen a team catch so many breaks in one season (soft BE schedule, facing teams with injured/suspended players, and a Davidson team that choked one away)

They suck. Their sweet 16's are flukes. They lack a killer instinct and will never be taken seriously

When they had Crean and Wade they were cool with a Butler/VCU/Gonzaga vibe. But now they are run by Curly.

I realize now why no one cares about Marquette. Even with their third straight Sweet Sixteen, the external perception is they are a slight notch above Butler. They would never be a finalist for Nerlens, or get a Josh Smith transfer. They are cute and cuddly and have no chance at a Final Four.

The last 5 years Georgetown has been an embarrassment to the Big East in march. I fully expect MU to outclass them in the new conference year after year.

The funny thing is that we have a greater chance at making the final four this year than georgetown.  At least we don't lost to double-digit seeds multiple years in a row.

I hope so.... I'm f-ing p.o.'d at Georgetown right now to begin with.  Here we take the good time and effort to start a new conference, and when faced with an opportunity to carry some tourney success (and credibility) into our inaugural season, they go and crap the bed to a school that wasn't even a full D-I member the last time they lost to a 14-seed.

So you're mad at MU, random idiot Georgetown fan?  I seriously hope GU isn't granting degrees to idiots like you because you need to get a frickin' clue.  We're the ones involuntarily having to carry your luggage you left behind in Philly last night.  Not to mention, your school has got all the money and prestige in our little group, yet our school is the one who's writing a bigger check to the conference next year.

I guess their recruiting is a few notches closer to Nerlens and Josh Smith than ours, though it has resulted in a style barely more tolerable to watch than UW's and even less success.  I'd lose my mind and start hating on everyone too if we lost to double digit seeds five times in a row, with three first round exits by double digits.  Three Sweet 16s in a row is a trend, not a fluke, similar to their current NCAA trend.  You make your own damn luck by playing hard and working for it.


To be fair, some praise as well:

Living in Wisconsin, I see Marquette play an awful lot. This team is the least talented team that Buzz has coached in his 5 years. Yet they somehow found a way to tie for a Big East Conference title, and are now in the Sweet 16 for another year. Other than Vander Blue there is not a blue chip recruit on the team. Yet, Buzz finds a way every year to get his teams to out compete their opponents. Also, before some of you bury Marquette, Buzz has put together a nice recruiting class next year. If Marquette won a regular season title with this limited group of basketball players, look out for what may happen down the road.

Given our current state of affairs, I'm having a lot of trouble looking down at their program right now.
