Don't be such a martyr.

Two different groups pick AP player of the year and Mr. Basketball.  And your Mr. Basketball argument fell real flat with no good argument whatsoever.

I don't think it did.  Provided several examples right off the top of my head.  Could have gone deeper, but didn't.  In my opinion there is a bias.  I'm hardly the only one here that thinks it.

Well, I'm not going to say Wilson is better than Koenig, because they play different types of games.  Wilson is a very good fit at MU...and Koenig is a very good fit at UW.

Rumors are his dad is "badmofo18" in this thread.

Oh, dear. The dissonance of that thread.

Wow what a F*kin tool.

Respect to Sultan, holding it down over there.

Canned Goods n Ammo

Enough of the sh*t said around here irks me.

That place is insane.

Sultan, I don't know how/why you do it.

Next pressing question for me is, how the hell does an adult whose son is going to college to play basketball have a screen name of "Badmofo18"

“I think everyone should go to college and get a degree and then spend six months as a bartender and six months as a cabdriver. Then they would really be educated.”

Badgerhater

Should be fun watching that board next year when the LAX version of Tim Maymon hits Madison.

I grew up among them.  I know how they think.

You provided a couple of examples, all of which had reasonable explanations.  I even provided a couple counter examples.

People love to think there is bias.  They like feeling victimized.  There isn't bias in this case.

I almost spat out my drink when I read this brilliance by Sultan:

2013-14 season.  And he'll make Gaines' dad look tame.

What'd the 5 fingers say to the face? SLAP!  Well done, Sultan!

So why haven't you outed him yet on the Bucky board, may I ask?
Relax. Respect the Process.

To be honest, I am not 100% sure it is him.  Just going by rumors.  (I did make an inference earlier in the thread.)

BTW, there is a segment of that board that honestly believes that Bo "cooled" on Wes Matthews because of his mom?  Really?  Was his mom ever a problem?  And Reece Gaines dad was never a problem either.  He was *never* going to play for Bo Ryan.

So silly.

GGGG

BTW, I very well might be wrong about Koenig's dad on Scout.  (I am much more sure that he is "birthersarefools" on Buckyville.)  But it's fun to pretend anyway.

Worse yet, there are some believe that Bo only pretended to recruit Wes, but didn't really want him because of some "incident" between Wes Sr., Bo and Pam back in the 70s. Bizarre love triangle?

Yeah, I caught that inference.  Well played and COMPLETELY over their heads.

They're not very bright over there, I've noticed.  As you alluded to in that thread, is virtually EVERY recruit that Bo missed out on because Bo "cooled" on them, not just Wes Matthews and Gaines??

And that "list" that they posted showed them striking out much more than they admitted.  The comments about Jamil and Wes made me LOL in particular.
Relax. Respect the Process.

IS WES BO RYAN'S ILLEGITIMATE SON??!!!???

Sultan, I've never seen a fan-based that is more concerned about a recruits' parents than UW's. It's bizarre.

Honestly, in my almost 15 years following MU, can only recall one parent (Tim Maymon) that became (at least publicly) an issue for the program.

People love to think there is bias.  They like feeling victimized.  There isn't bias in this case.

There are several Wisconsin high school coaches on a few of the Wisconsin fan boards.  One of them a few years back came right out and said he would have a tough time voting for a MU commit if they had a vote, which they do not.  I don't think he is alone, there are people in the state that are truly that bias.  If he was stupid enough to come out and say it, how many are not stupid enough but keep it inside when they vote?

In 1986, Tony Smith was the best player in the state.  Kirby Kulas won the award.  Call it anti-MU, call it pro small town bias, call it what you want. It was a stunner then and remains a head scratcher almost 20 years later.

Steve Novak, in my opinion, should have received it over Greg Brown...we can quibble on this one.  Brown played on a much better team.  We all know who ultimately proved it out.

Jerry Smith behind Polka?  No way Polka was a better high school player than Jerry Smith.  This one was laughable.

2001...Devin Harris and Travis Diener...interesting debate.

EDIT:  I had to go back to 2006 with the Polka stuff to remember what a shock it was. Glad the memory isn't failing me.  One of several examples.

Jerry Smith is an interesting example...but he wasn't a Marquette commit.  If anything, he was closer to being a UW commit.  I have no idea why you keep bringing that up as a sign of anti-MU bias.

It *is* a sign that sometimes the judges of this thing don't know what they are doing however.

macman320

Or Jerry Smith as an example of pro UW bias

From what I hear, he could be the type of kid who needs to get a decent distance away from home in order to thrive, much like Maymon.

You recall correctly. Very PC way of handling it.

Looks like Mr. Koenig showed up on Dodds' board to defend the honor of his son.

that would be great, as tmoney is ZFB's favorite badger poster.  ZFB will give tmoney credit for being even better that ZFB in the use of 3rd person.

koenig's dad is teabaggersaredumb or somthing to that effect.

I am a marquette fan and a badger fan and I know the Koenig's.  His dad is a really good guy and it doesn't sound like him.  I know he likes Marquette too.
