What the hell was on Jerry's head?  Old age spot?  Duane has a sick crossover ala Tim Hardaway sr.  Kid dribbled through every double team and broke a few ankles doing it,

What Duane Wilson showed was huge speed and quickness but more importantly he can make shots which will make him very dangerous next year for MU.  Not sure if he is much of
a passer but more of a scoring presence.  His ability to beat double teams in the second half was pretty amazing.  I see no reason that he can not be a star at MU.  He is the type
of guard that all college teams would like to have, he is Peyton Siva with a shot.

Seriously, the guy is a legend.  Go look up Cuba City on a map.  Considering what the guy has done there....

wilson could be our point right now. impressive.

Yes, because going against a bunch of farm boys from Grant County is *just* like going against BE defenses.

Last night was the first time I've seen Wilson play.  He's quick and can shoot, which will provide a nice change of pace with Derrick Wilson.

Derrick Wilson will be the defensive asset next year, they can play the point guards much like the bigs this year, D for Wilson, O for Wilson.

Well, to be fair, didn't Dekker do the same thing? I haven't seen Du Wilson, but didn't he make his bones (also like Dekker) on the AAU circuit?

Don't get me wrong, I think Wilson is going to be very good, but I can't really say that he "could be our point guard right now" by basing it on watching him play against Cuba City...or even any AAU team.

It are these expectations that inevitably lead to the "man...I thought Duane Wilson was supposed to be better than this" statements that will begin next November.

4th and State

Did anyone else watch the post game conference? A reporter asked Duane about what this game meant to him considering the surgery his mother just had (she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had surgery earlier this week I believe) and I couldn't be more impressed with this kid.  Started to break after answering the queston, but regained his composure and just really seems to be a great kid...I think he'll be a perfect fit for Buzz and Marquette.

One thing good is having a junior in Derrick Wilson next year so they can bring Duane around slowly, there will be enough scoring from other players but I do expect Derrick to score
a little bit more next year.  MU will be as deep as this year with a lot of minutes for at least 10-11 players.

It really is a vicious circle, isn't it?
