Here we go .. first pics of the year.  Fresh off the memory card.  Not the greatest of shots, but they'll do for those who didn't make it to the scrimmage.

Didn't get many of Chistopherson .. he didn't play hardly any of the first scrimmage game.  Dunno why.

I'll have video sometime tomorrow night.

some pretty good shots, was fairly happy with what i saw tonight. Looks like we've got all the makings of a team that will be able to push hard and not lose much when subbing in off the bench. Free throws still were shaky and I didn't like the bigs going for a charge on D. Gotta play strong down there which is what it looked like the team was doing for the most part.

Nice view of the PTM in the 7th picture.

Has anyone ever told you that you bear a striking resemblance to Wes Matthews Jr.?

muwarrior87

nice shot of Ben-Eze in the second to last one too.

since when is going for a charge a bad thing. its better than going for an unreachable blocked shot. practice hard play hard, i salute d. burke for taking that charge on fitz

I noticed Ben-eze sat by himself after the practice..., felt he should have been included or talked to by some players-somehow made to feel welcome.
Nice to see Mbakwe suited up and on court...,
Most impressed with Acker.  Fitz looked to have a little more meat on the shoulder.  Would have liked to see DJ pass.
After the scrimmage, all players left the court except Fitz, who took shot after shot from 3 range.

He's probably the only one without classes... ;D

Is it just me or does Ouse look thinner?  He's already giving up 5 inches to Hibbert, I'd rather he not give up any more weight either.

I see Nike shirts and shorts, but are those Converse shoes?  I don't see a swoosh on them, but I do see a circle with something inside it (a star?) on the heal and toe.  Anyone recognize the shoe model?

With the shiney toe, they look like the Wade's, but I'm not really into shoes well enough to know the difference...

That is also a place where Converse has placed logo's in the past.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Yep, those are the Team Wade 1.3's.

Yeah, I think you're right.  I had looked and saw those, but didn't see our color scheme.  But, I think that's the shoe.  Even the tiny triangle logo (which I hadn't noticed before on the MU pictures) is there.

Ouse was the only one not in DWade's shoes last night.

I see from looking around at the 1.3's, they've used that triangle spot to put different things.  The one pictured above is a candy cane for a special Christmas edition of the shoe.  On another edition (below), they put Wade's scoring average from the Finals.  I wonder if they'll have a special Marquette edition.

Nike bought the Converse brand about a year ago.  All one big happy family.

Actually, it was four years ago, but so far they've kept the brands separate.  Marquette has worn Nike in the past, and has been a "Nike Elite" team since the FF run.  Now the entire team (minus Ooze) shows up in Converse.  This adds some credence to the rumors that Marquette will be a Converse -- specifically a brand Wade -- school this year.  It's hard to imagine one of the Nike Elite programs would start the season wearing another brand (even if one owned by Nike) unless something is afoot.  (Sorry, bad pun.)

Well, here you go.  I can't vouch for the source, but Marquette's shoes last night caught someone else's attention.  Does anyone know who this guy is?  He obviously knows about MU Scoop.

Yeah that's me.  I found out from a Converse employee a few weeks ago, and I kept waiting for some sort of press release or something.  Then when I got on here and saw the pictures I thought I'd go ahead and post.

I think the best picture is the one with james trying to shoot over a defender while two open teammates call for the ball.

Glad I could help you out your rumor.  Sure wish the Muscoop.com at the bottom of that image was bigger.  Next time.

It's been "known" for some time that MU woudl be a Converse/Brand Wade school this year.

As for the pictures, the first one is funny...it looks like Lazar is shooting a pretty small ball since the angle is just so as the coach is passing the ball in the background.

Ready2Fly

By far the best was of Mbakwe throwing it down.  I hope to see that thousands of times over the next four years.

And Hayward looks jacked.

Great pics overall.
