Absolutely agree.  They have a 7 footer that isn't bad.  We will have our hands full.

UW took them down pretty easily.  Before that game I was more worried about them.  Not as much anymore.

Brown is 7'1" and is shooting under 33% from the floor! He averages as many rebounds as fouls and TOs (6.6). UWGB has an undersized guard who likes to put it up and a burly 6'9" forward who transferred from Iowa. MU should win by 15-20 points.

You watch the game? They had UW down the whole first half, at the Kohl center. Pretty impressive.

Actuall GB did well the first half and the game was at the Kohl Center

Not really.  Look at the first halves of Marquette's games against cupcakes.  We don't exactly blow the doors off of them (in general).

The only thing that matters is the final score... and it wasn't close.

They got a lot of their looks off of dribble drives. If the guards defend well, I don't see MU losing. Fouse is a nice player though.

I also think it will be close.  Anyone else going to the game?  I'll be in Green Bay for work so i am going.

Hopefully will be there, a friend bailed on me so I'm trying to find another one willing to travel 2 hours.

Unfortunately, most of my friends aren't Marquette fans.

MU should have beaten SELA by 20 as well.  This will be a big game for UWGB.  I expect MU to win, but not by more than 10.

Biggest key will be to get on them right away. If they give UWGB any hope, you never know what could happen. Would love a fast start, and then keep them at arms length.

Based on what?  UWGB played really well the first 15 minutes of the game and then didn't show in any way that they could compete with UW.

UWGB has lost to:
Nevada
Cal-Fullerton
Idaho
Virginia
Tennessee Tech
UW
Southern Ill

You seriously think they have a chance to beat us?

It seemed that they got most of their early points due to their guards being a lot faster and getting to the basket against UW.

Brown didn't impress me very much. If I remember right, he had a very good game against us last year, butagainst UW he was pretty tentative and didn't do a whole lot. I was a lot more worried before watching that game. Granted, it will be on the road and our team isn't good enough to look past anyone, at least after the SELA game.

Brown has been a disappointment so far this year. There is not much use for a 7'1" center who seems to play outside on offense. I really love their point guard. Sykes has Dominic James athleticism. He does not have James' strength, but he can shoot. He will absolutely drive Cadougan nuts. Love, a freshmen guard, is also extremely quick. MU is stronger, but Green Bay is quicker. Looking forward to matchup between Gardner and Green Bay's No. 44.

This will be a good test for MU.  UWGB should finish near the top of the Horizon, and they played really well at the Kohl Center.  The crowd will be amped up and full of UW-Hyphen students and UWGB fans who love to route against Marquette at any chance they get.

Absolutely agree.  They have a 7 footer that isn't bad.  We will have our hands full.

The way to negate Alec Brown is to have him defend Gardner, and pile up fouls.  I bet that Wardle will put Brennan Cougill on Davante.  Alec Brown's 3pt shooting average (.417) is better than his FG average of .327

Jordan Fouse, a freshman from Racine St. Catherine's is playing starter's minutes, so Jim McIlvaine will have something to crow about.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

If Marquette can control the guards for UWGB i don't see them having any problems getting this W. Their guards do, in my opinion, have the ability to take over the game

I do not think they will beat us.  I do think we will have our hands full.

They lost to SIU by 2.  Lost to Nevada by 2.  They have played 6 road games.  We haven't exactly played a bunch of games on the road.  I expect an ugly game, one in which we have our hands full for much of it.  I expect we will win, however.

Nope, feel pretty crappy.  Still not sure this team is any good.  Haven't beaten any quality team. Concerned to put it mildly.

Definitely could be a long year. Then again, in the end this could be our only bad loss. Just too soon to tell, but i question how good they are. lets just say this year's teqm may provide Buzz the opportunity to do one of his best coaching jobs.
