I read on another board that he was actually called "Vander Black".   If true, it puts a whole different spin on the incident.

We've known that for a while, right? Vander told the cops that the guy had used a racial slur before the fight, an allegation which all the other witnesses denied.

Muskie, I think Merritt was being funny and referring to:

Yeah, I know.  It was a failed attempt at a humorous literal response.

But they do have some good deals there!

As much as I defend Vander. This is just not true. There was no racial slurs used. Yes, the kid called him Vander Orange after Vander said do you even know who I am, but there was no racial slurs at any point.

Not buying it. I don't doubt that students say things behind Vander's back, but I can't imagine any student approaching Vander, mouthing off and trying to pick a fight with him.

it happened right in front of me...The kid was drunk and acted way out of line. Its unfortunate I wish Vander didnt have to deal with idiot students like that.

Of course it happened right in front of you.  Why wouldn't you be there?

Here guys this is an actual update on the situation from an interview with Trent himself

Can we get an interview from him by the Marquette sports reporters?

uh oh... Baylor may get involved...

Gonzaga appears to still be in the picture and after losing Quincy Miller to the NBA Draft earlier this week, Baylor could potentially be a player as well.

Wait, I thought he had already made his intentions clear to Marquette that he was coming to Marquette.  I thought this was done.

Gonzaga is done. There was a article posted a few days ago.

Not only done: official and final.

The guy at Qdoba was upset that VB was hitting on his girlfriend. That's very different than approaching him at a party and trying to pick a fight.

By the way, does anyone know where I can get some Nikes?

Right...first semester last year.  The kid has grown since then.

We win.

"'After completing my degree, this is more of a basketball decision than anything,' said Lockett."

Provided he can get a guarantee from Buzz that Buzz won't leave for the duration of his career.

p.s. When Lockett commits to Marquette, how will we know?  Seeing as we already have a Lockett to Marquette thread.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Ok guys...

The transfer case was me being told by a family friend of Vander Blue that he wasn't to happy with how things were going on and off the court. I happened to hang out with Vander two weekends ago and on two seperate occasions in the same night he almost got in a fight. People try and start fights with him and give him a hard time due to "him raping a girl as they said". Would you like to be in that position?

Also the transfer of Jamail Jones was talked about thoroughly the last few weeks. Then the Hiroshima talks went down. Im just connecting dots here. So yes I still believe its a defenite possibilty- meaning it could defenitely happen...

For the Lockett information. Someone who was friends with him said online that he was going to MU. Yes I got excited and shouldnt of said its "official and final". The Journal sentinel article on him seems to be hinting that he is coming here, just like the article that came out before durley. AAU coaches are used all the time for this matter.

David Hookstead is my source. He said he has sources close to both sides. He said he confirmed with multiple people. He also said don't expect an announcement today.

Later stating "I am aware of the visit, but I also know what he told the MU coaches. The visit to ISU  is likely a face to face to give the reason why its a no."

I personally believe it was pretty much final after he visited MU, just that they want to hold off on the anouncement based on his moms health. His visit to ISU is probably his back up plan.

I acted to soon I will admit. I thought it was official at the time and I let my emotions get the best of me. Sorry for making you guys this mad. Ill just become and avid reader instead of poster from now on.

Thanks for all the harsh comments toward my father and me wearing a blue suit to games...didn't know school spirit was frowned upon. Arent we all Marquette fans?

In terms of the Vander/Jamail stuff... muguru, seinfeld, or anyone else associated with the transfer talk, would you care to corroborate? Is "hiroshima" the treatment of bball players by the rest of the student body?

How can Baylor be a player?  I thought this was all about moving closer  to Minnesota?

Hiroshima, actually Hiroshima II is what he called it, was a term used by muguru to describe what he felt the reaction by the posters on this board will be when the reasons behind a still to be announced transfer or transfers from MU's program.  Again, muguru is predicting that people will go "nuclear" not over the transfer(s) themselves as much over the reasons for it(them).

Well, it would be incredibly stupid for MU not to announce all of the transfers at once.  So if someone other than Jamail is transferring, I would have expected it to come out today.  (Unless it is an academic issue.)

Getting warmer.

Jones is a pretty good student, so they didn't have to wait for the semester to end to announce.
