So, I'm good with whoever leaves. One comes, one goes. We could use an upgrade at several spots.

Unlike a lot of posters, I don't pretend to have any insider info on who may or may not be transferring, but why do people always assume that if a player transfers he was forced out? Maybe the player just isn't happy at MU, maybe he is homesick, maybe he doesn't feel close to his teammates, maybe he hates Milwaukee winters, maybe he thinks he's in over his head, maybe he can't handle the academics at MU, maybe he was apprehensive about going to MU in the first place, maybe he'd rather be a star on a lower-level D1 team, maybe he wants to major in something not offered at MU, maybe he takes 100 times more flak than praise from his own team's fans. Who knows? To act like any player who leaves did so because he was forced out is just plain ignorant.

Except in this case multiple people have stated that it would not be their choice, that they are in fact being forced out.  I think that's why people are jumping to that conclusion here.

It's great for the current players to read about which one of them is leaving.

You don't think they read between the lines when Buzz is out recruiting a new teammate for next year/already know who is leaving because of how much time they spend together?

"Multiple people" also said that Buzz to SMU was a done deal.

I actually don't think that's true (as long as we're not counting smuXX).  Multiple people reported it was very close to happening, and that's been confirmed by multiple media outlets.

Do you know, or are you just pouring gas on the fire?

The definition of rhetorical, right there.

Is this the end or the beginning?

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

Also, it's probably just the beginning.

I don't think anyone ever said it was a done deal. ESPN and Fox journalists did say that there were serious discussions between Buzz and SMU.

I don't think anyone on this board said it was a done deal, except for trolls.  Even the most ardent of the sky-is-falling crowd on this board never claimed it was a done deal.

The only person to post anything about it was IWB, and his article was basically just  gossip,  masquerading as journalism, begging for page views.

No one from ESPN took the story seriously, including the king of rumor-mongering buffoons, Andy Katz.  Apparently, Jason King has nothing else better to do than warm over a three week old turd, so he posted a meaningless story, about how Buzz had all but packed his toothbrush and change of underwear for SMU.  That does not qualify as "serious", IMO.

That doesn't mean anything.  ESPN these days is often times way behind others with solid information.

Thanks to Bo Ryan we now know how to spot transfers who decided to leave on their own.  Anytime Marquette blocks at least 25 schools from accepting a transfer we'll know its voluntary because Buzz will be forcing an appeal so he can find out why the player wants to transfer.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
