Not sure who it's going to leave a mark on, though.  Bush and Company will say "too bad" to her editorial, just as she'd predict.

Oh it will leave a mark on the entire Republican Party.  Perhaps when they get their asses kicked again in 2008 they will finally get it.  Money is drying up as well in fundraising.  I love it.

In 2000 I reluctantly voted for Bush because I was nervous he was his dad all over again, who I refused to vote for.  In 2004 I proudly voted for Bush because of his war on Terror, tax cuts....but in the end he did become his dad.  a globalist, anti-sovereignty, pro-illegal immigration guy.

No wonder Gore and others are saying no impeachment for Bush....why would they. He's playing right out of the left of center play book.  Conservatives are going to stay home in DROVES again in 2008.

Couple things .. It's hard to call Bush a globalist / anti-sovereign guy when (perhaps up until a few months ago) his foreign policy has been set without much regard to a good chunk of the global community. -- But I do get your point, esp with immigration.

2008 will disprove or prove out the "staying home in droves" concept.  I have a suspicion that our country has, well, become interested in voting over the past 10 years.   The right base won't stay home, they're still interested in electing a non-Democrat.  Sure, some on the fringe of the base will flip, but I'm not sure they literally stay home and don't vote for someone.

Anyone have voter turnout %ages for November (national) elections over the past decade or so?  I assume they are climbing.

.. mid years seem to be steady around 36-38%.  Presidential turnout has gone from 49 - 51 - 55 in the last 3 cycles .. 2008 will be interesting.  55 or higher means few "stayed home".  Time well tell.

It does boggle the mind though.  45% of the people aren't voting for president? Seriously.  wtf is their problem?  Or are the voter records just preposterously out of whack..?
