Big Daddy 84

They have packed his uniform..no decision yet of playing for sure. If he does play it will be only spot minutes and first action will be early in either half. They do not want him to warm up and then sit on bench for 30 minutes and then come in. My impression is that it is a 50/50 chance he plays tomorrow. 90% in he plays against Cinn, 99% against GT.

I hope it's tomorrow, but don't expect to see him until Cincy. Even if he can give us 8-12 minutes for the next 3 games, then 10-15 in the BET, and 12-20 in the NCAAs, that could be immense.

Exactly what I'm hoping for.

How does big daddy know?

he's big daddy.  we don't question it.  and he's also been 100% correct so far...

boyonthedock

not to rag on him or nothing, but predicting a 50/50 shot on a pass/fail proposition will make him right 100% of the time in this particular instance. good news to hear, and i am not doubting big daddy. just being a pedant.

big daddy.  Gardner...  OMG Gardner's dad has joined Scoop!

PGsHeroes32

No better way to tell if hes ready than have him play all 40 minutes tomorrow

While I really want Gardner back, and I think he will be huge in the NCAA, this team is just playing so well together as evidenced by the fact that they have played a full 40 mins for two games in a row (something we haven't done all year).  I just worry how Adding him back into the line-up will hurt the chemistry of the team.  Hopefully all my worrying is for naught.

Warriors 79

ALL worrying is for naught.  Remember when we were all worried about Anderson's shoulder and how long he would be out?  Gardner needs to be effective to help, whether that is for 1 minute or 40.  Buzz knows best when the Twinkie comes out of his mouth and he goes in the game..:)
"I went into a restaurant one night and ordered lobster, and the waiter brought me one with a claw missing. He told me that in the back there's a tank they keep the lobsters in and while they're in there, they fight and sometimes one loses a claw. I told him to bring me a winner."  Al McGuire

blb, he is not coming back to start.   He is coming back to give MU depth up front, and to give MU a different option offensively when they start to stagnate.    6-8 minutes at most tomorrow night.   Hopefully progressing from there so he can get back to 15-20 if needed.   Off of the bench.

i never said anything about starting. i said adding him to the line-up, which means adding him to the list of someone who can play. even coming off the bench can mess with chemistry

Well, the universe is cooling.  It would be a better use of your time worrying about that, rather than whether the re-introduction of DG will be harmful to the team.   ::)
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

How would having him come off the bench instead of Juan or jamail mess with chemistry? It makes our team infinitely better. Hes instant offense, draws fouls, gives us 5 more fouls to use, can pass from the post, makes fts.....and is perfect for when we face a team who wants to slow it down.....how did ND work out?

Yeah, this exactly.  He increases the versatility and talent level of the players we put on the court.  Right now Juan and Jamail are covering 4's and 5's when they're in there.  They're giving it their all, but that's not where they belong.  Ox belongs down there.  Right now we can play teams fast, and that works most of the time.  But when we need to adjust tempo for the opponent it's not as easy as it would be if DG were available.

WellsstreetWanderer

J-man you're right. Even in limited minutes he gives us a differant look. That will keep opponents off balance . great news! love to watch him play

bilsu

Did they really not pack his uniform for the Notre Dame game?

Spaniel with a Short Tail

I nominate Big Daddy for post-er of the year.  Love the way he drops these tidbits...then disappears! No teal here.

Not necessarily... but for all those naysayers about players, families, recruits, etc. not being on Scoop, I would take this as a hint.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Could he be Gardner's handler, aka World Wide Wes or Kool Aid Perry?
