Vander...BOOK IT TONIGHT :D

Jacks DC

Gotta say Jae.  He put in some work on the boards in Gardner's absence, as did Vander.

Blue, you're my boy!  Couldn't be more happy for him after the last two games.  Could have knocked down a few more FTs at the end and the three pointer late was not a good idea, but he brought the energy and was solid on both ends all night.  Loved the fist pump by LeBron after Vander threw down the alley oop.

Everybody else was pretty bad.

DCWarriors04

If I didnt see the game I'd say Jae, but Blue sparked the teams second half run. Hard to say if anyone else could have lit that spark tonight since we were ATROCIOUS.

WellsstreetWanderer

Jae was the glue tonight 12 boards  and 20 pts. he was steady all game.
terrible ball control . I almost choked on my slider when JC tried to dribble behind his back on a double team and terrible passing choices.

JTBMU7

As Jimmy Mac would say, Vanderblue (all one word).

flash

VANDER BLUE no question to me, one of the best games of his career.  He sparked the second half run with the 3 pointer and the dunk.  Picked up the scoring that we missed without Davante.  Keep it up Vander.

garekis

Blue - mostly because I hope that, via the butterfly effect, a touch of psychological goodwill will give Vander the boost he needs for this second half of the conf schedule and thereafter . . . and, if that's too much to ask, one fantastic game on Saturday against the Irish.

GGGG

Interesting that the usual Vander critics are nowhere to be seen tonight....despite the fact that the few that I checked were "active."

Hmmmm......

Blackhat

Vander- shot 70% from field, had some electrifying dunks, key three.  8 boards too.

brewcity77

This one was so obvious, even ErickDJ08 would vote for Vander. So would godzilla! As I said to mu_hilltopper at the game..."When you get home, just put Vander's picture on the left side of the Scoop!" ;D

+1.  Interesting, but not surprising.

What was Junior doing out there?--pretty bad.

Crowder was a force on the boards and in the paint and we really needed that tonight with DG out.  However, no question the game was turned by the play of Vander.    Great energy, finished on the breaks, solid defense, rebounded well which was critical with DG out....great game for Vander and let's hop that confidence from the last minute of the Nova game and the performance tonight continues to boost his all around game and impact.

When will you just admit that Blue sucks at basketball?

How can anyone not like someone who screwed over wisconsin to come to mu. Crowder was solid but blue was a game changer tonight

🏀

ErickJD is going with Mayo.

Vander took this game by the scruff of the neck and got us this W. His best performance in a MU shirt thus far. Without a doubt the stud of this one.

Dr. Blackheart

MU 14 and 1 when Blue scores in double digits.  MU needed his energy and points tonight but the kicker was his 7 Orbs with DG out.

Jae.  20 and 12 and he continues to be a beast in the second half of the last few games.
Happy to have Blue get another one to make it 6 players with multiples.  That's some nice options.

But if this were the most valuable player of the game, it's clearly Crowder.

In a game marred by turnovers both ways, Crowder was the only player of the 18 who played who never turned the ball over.

After they dominated the offensive glass at the opening, Jae single handedly shuts them down with TWELVE defensive boards.  8 of 9 from the line vs. 1 of 4, and the ESPN headline starts with Crowder.

But again, no problem with Blue.  To go 7 of 10 including a clutch trey, and the 5 offensive boards showed a passion for not being denied at the offensive end that we really need, and with his normally great defense, glad to give it to him.

i would say this is probably the best back-to-back games an MY player (Crowder) has ever played WITHOUT getting the coveted Stud of the Game award either time :-)
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

He also had 0 assists.  It's much better to look at assist-to-turnover ratio than just assists (or just turnovers).  This was also in a game in which 17 of our 21 field goals were assisted on.

Mr. Blue. Marquette was 12 of 31 before Blue scored seven straight. Including Blue's shots, Marquette shot 9-of-17 the rest of the way. Crowder called it the momentum change of the game, and the numbers support that.

Serious as a heart attack Vander Freaking Blue.  And he had WAY more assists than what he is listed as having.  Great to see him step up and nice to see the haters take a break. Let's get some mo' into Domerville on Saturday!!

Go you Golden and BLUE Warriors!!!
"I went into a restaurant one night and ordered lobster, and the waiter brought me one with a claw missing. He told me that in the back there's a tank they keep the lobsters in and while they're in there, they fight and sometimes one loses a claw. I told him to bring me a winner."  Al McGuire

I voted for Vander. It was close between Vander and Jae. Vander wins, because he got MU exposure being in top 10 plays. Crowder has been SOTG game 4 times  and probably 2nd at least 10 times. He is our season's SOTG.
