South Florida?

At UConn, At WV, GT, SH,at ND and at Nova are all harder then SF at home....

I mean come on....

The match-ups with the teams mentioned are tougher. They play defense. Solidly. USF rarely gives you 30 in a half. Considering MU's continued slow starts and ability to get clogged up on offense, it's no stretch to consider a strong defensive team to be their hardest obstacle rather then a talented team not committed at that end.

UConn -- Continues to underperform relative to talent. So long as Boatright sits, MU has a great chance to win in a place they've already won.

WVU -- Continues to be quite young and get caught up in the game. MU matches well with them.

GTown/Hall -- Like their chances at home. Hall is a 6-9th place team. MU should always beat that number in Milwaukee.

ND/Nova -- These are bad teams that a double bye recipient beats regardless of location.

SF is not a strong defensive team. They are ranked 82 in defensive efficiency by Pomeroy.

The reason why they don't give up many points is because they play at one of the slowest tempo's in college basketball.

Their offense is worse then their D.......

If we lose to SF at home it will be our worst loss of the year........

I want to know how the hell gates wasn't suspended from NCAA play for the rest of the year; didn't legarrete Blount do the same thing and he was canned??  Pathetic!

GGGG

Blount wasn't suspended by the NCAA...he was suspended by Oregon.  The NCAA doesn't deal with player discipline issues...the teams and conferences do.

I understand it seems people now place more money on stats (Wisconsin is the 3rd best team in nation??) than the eye test but whether the tempo is slow or the defense is good, the Bulls are maddening when they take any team out of their offensive rhythm. And they've done it staggeringly well this season.

Your last line is the exact reason why I paint USF as one of the toughest games remaining. Take MU's lackadaisical offense + USF's defense/tempo + pressure to win at home = a game that will odds on lead to disappointment, especially if MU shits the bed like Louisville did in Rhode Island.

But that's the thing, isn't it? In Rhode Island. There's a big difference playing at home and on the road. In four years, Buzz has only lost one game to a non-tourney team (NC State in 2009. I'm not saying we won't lose at home, but I do think it takes a pretty good team to do it. They have good length, I'm just not sold that their guard play is good enough to steal one at the BC. If we had to go down there, different story, but at home I can't see that.
