How many shots did GT miss in the last 10 min? 2?  Just un-fing-believeable

Why should you miss when you're getting wide open shots anywhere on the floor you want?

Can't effin believe the way we blew yet another opportunity. Inexcusable.

godzilla

When the coach cannot properly coach defense, this crap will happen.   Did Georgetown shoot 70% that second half?

I'm done with this team, not worth my time.

This.

Repeating pattern every game.

I feel like I've seen this movie before...over and over. This team flat-out can't close.

seriously what on earth was that play to end the game, seriously out of a TO?!?!?!?!

Buzz's success rate on plays out of timeouts late in games has to be under 5%.  It never looks like they have a clue what's going on...best to just let them play it out.

damuts222

QuoteListen, I don't know what 'play' you guys were expecting out of the time out.  There is nothing you can draw up that is going to give MU an open 3.  How stupid are you people?

Beware of trolls scoopers.

New members coming out of the woodwork to cry tonight.

I agree. There is no play. There was enough time on the clock to drive to the hoop for a most likely uncontested layup. Then foul. If GTOWN makes both free throws then at least you hoped they would miss one FT.

He plays great defense. How many points did Clark have?

Quote from: 46-47warriorcaptain on January 04, 2012, 08:06:57 PM
all the vander defense comments do not excuse his absolute lack of any offensive ability , he was a national top recruit , he needs to have more offensive game period,  and he got burned on defense one of those last possesions.

Oh good lord...he was the only distributor out of the backcourt all night.  6 assists...2 turnovers.  His contributions weren't much beyond that, but honestly, is he going to be blamed for EVERYTHING that happens negatively??  He ran the point when our starting point guard starting turning the ball over and getting into foul trouble.

The problem defensively tonight was again being slow on rotations.

Ugghh exciting game, let it get away......I learn every season it is a FORTY MINUTE game, Hoyas D was great in second half and hit some big 3's...tough loss

Two reasons.  MU is under sized and you have some guys that cannot guard their man off the dribble.  Crowder let's his man blow by him.  DJO has to step in to prevent a lay up.  Open 3.  Crowder handles his man, DJO does not have to come over.

Except it was Cadougan who left his man wide open.

Moronic as usual.  Was he guarding Clark the entire game?  Ever heard of a "Switch"?  I guess you will just look for any reason, no matter how ridiculous.

Their defense took away our offense as DJO couldn't do anything and we didn't change our Tom Crean style offense until Gardner got a shot after TO and Crowder drove the paint once. It wouldn't have hurt to get the call on the charge before three at the end.

Yep.  That is a problem.

When GU was cutting into the lead, I kept saying to my son, time for DJO to take over.  I was waiting for him to stop the bleeding.  Still waiting.  Mayo seemed to want to do that more.  Unfortunately, he made some mistakes during that run.

I thought of this, the only problem is we did not have any TOs. Securing the rebound and dashing down the court in 7 seconds is not a good shot.

Vander also didn't tell Crowder that he wasn't supposed to let a slow-footed 6'10" guy drive around him. He also made Crowder miss 2 easy lay-ups in the first half. When will Vander learn?!?

Actually, when Crowder missed the second lay-up, I texted my buddy, "Gtown wins by 3". I hate being right under those circumstances.

Nope.  Cadougan tried to rotate over, late.  DJO left his man and tried to take the charge.

Good time out by buzz after we hit the thereto go ahead by 16 or 17.  Way to kill our mo. Shitty game coach

Correct me if I am wrong, but his guy got a clean lay up at the end.  Textbook.

How many layups did he make? Dude needs to quit shooting.

On my phone so I can't quote what was said, but whoever said vanders d was horrible and (got blown by on one of the last plays) is dumb at best.

There was a screen and vander followed his man around, what else was he suppose to do, go underneath the screen and let his man have an open shot??

Better than a open layup

i just dont understand how vander still has name recognition with these tv announcers, he has done nothing to display he is any better than your average marquette guard in the last 10 years.  I would honestly take somebody like joe chapman or something over this guy, shoot diener is 10 times the player vander will ever be

T.V. Diener 34

Bottom line is that I'm sick of this.... 13 mins left up 17 and I'm still thinking to myself... "Definitely still coming down till the final minute to settle this one".... that is not natural for a basketball team but for Marquette it happens ALL THE TIME
