Looks like we have our replacement for DJO in Mayo. Man he is nasty.

I think extra year experience for Mayo, Van, Ox and Jamil(bigger role) will be plenty of O to take over for our stud seniors. Add in the D of chris and derrick.......and me likey.

And this is a good thing.  Better than the individual coaches determining punishment.

not sure i believe it wasn't buzz handing the suspension out???  if it's something like being late to a team meeting, that's buzz.  i doubt much is done without buzz' approval.

Mayo will be an excellent replacement for DJO, no problems.  I am hoping Steve Taylor will be the same for Crowder.

Only one who needs to develop abit is Jamail Jones and his outside shooting.  At this stage he is struggling, but if it comes together, it is a great nucleus.

I also love Davante's ability to knock down free throws. As he gets older and plays more(like now with chris out) he will be even more of a focus for us and agressive making that FT strength HUGE.

He has potential to get 8-10 ppg at the line as a senior if he continues to develop.

I wasn't commenting specifically on this case.  I do know that a skipped class by any athlete results in a one-game suspension.  So there are athletic department rules...and then there are basketball team rules that go beyond that.

I guess it does say "team rules" which likely means it was Buzz's rule in this case.

Yeah, I have a feeling that the University is just being extremely strict due to the recent investigation. Nothing wrong with teaching discipline as long we don't have these problems late in the year. The things that have been getting players in trouble this year probably wouldn't have been noticed in years past.

It's best to nip things in the bud.

Given everything that is going on in NCAA (regardless of sport), I see absolutely nothing wrong with our Athletic Department doing whatever they need to do to get/keep these guys in line- and the program clean. I would rather lose one game than be known for ignoring any misdoings- small or large- that our athletes commit. We have been lucky not to be disgraced after last years incidents... lets not come close to it again.

I respect the strict discipline. It speaks volumes about our program.
