Bo, with a much deeper bench, played his starters more minutes in Becky's 85-31 blow-out of national power Kenneshaw State.  KSU scored a whopping 8 points by half time.  Should he have pulled back the reigns in his team's first D1 game, or should he have continued to work the kinks out?  MU skipped two exhibitions, there are a limited amount of opportunities to get in the first games before the Virgin Islands.  Why let freshmen play chuck and duck in their first home game?

Given Becky's style of play, that may be one of the few opportunities they have to score over 50 points.

You're missing the point. Of course I want our guys playing hard from the opening tap to the final horn. And I'm grateful that for the first time in like forever we have 11 guys who can play. But when Louisville was pressing us up 40+ late in a game a few years back I didn't particularly like it. When Wisconsin goes for 2 up 25 late or is throwing bombs up 40 in the 4th quarter I didn't like that either. Same goes for us pressing up 50 in the waning minutes Friday.

I don't believe Buzz would press Louisville up 40 with a few minutes left in the game.  IMHO, this is a game in which MU pays a team to come in and provide an opportunity for MU to get their feet wet prior to the season really starting.  The more reps they can get pressing against a team the better.  You just can't simulate that type of thing in practice, and MU will be playing competitive teams in a week.  I'm guessing MSM's would say they appreciated as many reps against that type of a press as well.

How many turnovers were we forcing from the press?  If we were absolutely killing them with the press I'd see it as a lack of sportsmanship, but if we were doing just some sort of token full court man to man press to keep up the tempo I don't see anything wrong with it.

You lose you lose. I certainly hated the first half against North Carolina in the NCAA touranment or the beating Kansas put on us in 2003. However, that is the way it goes. It is a wasted game for MU, if they do not work hard on their game in these early games.

After last year's Louisville game, I don't care what defense Buzz calls against them, as long as it works.
