This would be a good catch...

Gabe York planning visits‎

We're going to see Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. So far I've only taken visits to UCLA, USC and I'm going to go to Washington too.

Wow, that kid is a freak...it's like watching old highlights of James but with some height.

Question, how many paid visits do prospects get? 4 right? How do these guys afford to fly all over the country and visit schools?

DCWarriors04

If Buzz can land him...wow. Would be a good catch with the potential of it becoming a GREAT catch.

Clam Crowder

Gotta love how Oklahoma is involved on this one. Go get him Buzz!

Looks like a punk...but what to I know.

muvanwilder

It's just a highlight reel, but man this dude looks like a stud.  His game reminded me of Austin Rivers.  I hope we can impress him.  I did read in an article that he is wanting to decide by the end of his jr year.

Good, I like guys with a chip on their shoulder....especially the point guard.

Skatastrophy

Real quick release on a couple of those catch-and-shoots.

I thought it was 4 also....guessing USC and UCLA were unofficial visits since he lives in the area.

He's ranked #41 by Rivals for 2012....right behind some guy named Tokoto.

If Gabe York were to sign, does he come directly into competition with Todd Mayo? Could the both see the floor at the same time? I guess I just don't know enough about their games and styles.

HoopsMalone

We could start a California pipeline here.  So far, no Texas, Wisconsin, or Chicago kids in 2011 or 2012.

GGGG

Preferably forest green but lime green is fine too.

brewcity77

Everywhere I've looked, York is listed as a shooting guard, and his mix tape doesn't indicate anything other than that. Could he play the point? It seems like our biggest need in 2011/12 is getting another big and a point. While York looks like a very good player, I'm not sure he fits our needs for that scholarship.

Gabe attends OLU.

My first cousin is current head of math dept., and STEM program at OLU and is their  former (1990-?) varsity BB coach. His older brother was a stud BB player at OLU in the 80s.

My cuz grew up in Calif., and  has had nothing to do with MU, ever.

Can I contact him on Gabe York, to talk up our school, and ask him to do the same?....I need some help from rulzgal here, please.

I wont make a move until advised.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

MU B2002

I am thinking please make no moves.  Buzz, Aki, vander, DJO  etc can talk up program.

I am thinking the same and wont make any contact, of ANY kind.

I was just kind of curious if such would be considered, a violative booster contact--when cuz is not a booster, but just related to me.

Besides, My cuz is a nice guy, but to a baller like Gabe, he's probably as interesting as 3rd period latin. lol

FYI, the recently retired superintendent of OLU, Ken Elwein, was the head BB coach at Milw. Lutheran HS, for many years. During his time in Calif.,  OLU built up  super facilities, and strong programs (plays Mater Dei, every year)....so Gabe's academics are unlikely to be any issue.

I'd love it.  Virginia, New England, Texas and then California added to the ability to get Chicago again in the future.  No offense on Wisconsin, but they have had only one Rivals 5-star since we joined the Big East (7 years) and we landed him (Vander Blue), so I can't say dominated Wisconsin recruiting is key to our future, though I am very happy Buycks came back home for his final two years.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

I have always liked Jay Bilas.  His knowledge of bball, his manner of delivery, the way he speaks etc.  this clip is just brilliant.  I loved it and, like you, makes me respect him even more.

Kid reminds me of d. James but with an ultra smooth jumper. Lay out the red carpet. He would be a great get for MU. Buzz is definitely on the right track with the potential he has visiting. Let's close em out buzz.
