Dear Tim Maymon
« on: March 20, 2011, 09:46:29 PM »
I hope you've enjoyed watching your son ride the pine all season for a team that is about to lose its coach while the Marquette team you abandoned is now in the Sweet 16.

There is no "I" in team and you have no idea what heart means.

Karma is a B#@&*.!!!!

At this point I feel sorry for JMay.

More hoping things work out for him than reminding the old man what he said after the UW game last year ("we will not win another game this year").

Stay classy

I'm the same, even though I commented here about laughing at him missing two FTs to end their game.

I feel sorry for the kid now. A cautionary tale.

Actually, we SHOULD go there.  Tim was to "watch Marquette lose" and we have done well.  F#%k Tim.

Agreed. He is screwed. Who knows what will happen, but I would be surprised if whomever the new coach is keeps him around (I would have been mildly surprised if Pearl even kept him around). I think he still has 2 years of eligibility left. Hopefully he can find a low or mid-major program to go to, so he can play, and hopefully pull a degree.

Thanks Tim--by jerking your son out of MU, we are still dancing with some players that we might not have landed without your good efforts.

How is that workin' for you Tim?
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

It's not enough to enjoy your own team's victory, you must shove it in the face of anybody who slighted you. That's what victory truly about. Spite.

Will Tennessee run their search for Pearl's replacement through you?

Feel bad for the kid. Not so much for the "handlers."

Tennessee's record when Maymon played: 5 W, 8 L

Played 127 minutes. Per W, ~11 min played. Per L, ~9 minutes played.

He could've helped this season on the boards. 50% of all his rebounds were offensive.
But his FT percentage would've driven this board mad - 25%!!!

And much like the Giant Ibis, we must savor any picture that captures JMay in action (driving to the hoop from his one minute performance vs Michigan):

Isn't it time to let Maymon and his Dad move on? What is gained by bashing his Dad on a monthly basis? Everyone know the story and fortunately for some fans and unfortunately for other fans his MU chapter is over.

At J.P. Tokoto's presser his mentioned the comments from various fan boards. You would be surprised by the insiders that read these boards.

Honestly, I think this thread falls in the normal cycle of talking about former players. It's only been a little over year removed from his departure. And he wasn't a Karon Bradley; he was a prized recruit from WI, even more, the alma mater of Wesley Matthews.

This board has done the same with Niv Berkowitz, Tyshawn Taylor (and he didn't even sign!)...it's also due to the fact that there was a cloud around his departure that had rarely been seen among MU transfers.

For now, the relevance is still strong as Pearl was fired and some of us are wondering where Maymon will go. When he departs, I'm sure threads about him will wither away...

Its also not just about the player. Its about Tim Maymon thinking he knows more than the coach and then saying we will lose every game.

Fair or not to Jeronne, our fans aren't going to respond well to that.

I have no beef with Jeronne.   Kids transfer.   I have trouble with his dad.   I watch variations of him at so many sporting events that it really saps the joy out of watching high schoolers compete.   Then, to take it onto college, and get into it with a D1 coach......sorry, Tim, you are part of the problem.

No wonder Tenn got slaughtered...they were playing 4 on 5!!

Tim insisted on that. The fewer players on the court, the better the chances of the offense running through Jeronne.

FWIW

I titled the thread Dear Tim Maymon....

It wasn't a shot at the kid....I really do feel sorry for him but his dad left MU with nothing but scorn for the program saying that essentially we were and would be losers.....just a way of telling Tim...."too bad, so sad.....you picked the wrong horse"

Aren't you glad he did pick the wrong horse?  Addition by subtraction in my mind.  A blessing.  I was one that never wanted Buzz to sign him in the first place, way way too much baggage.  No different for me than when Odartey Blankson left...addition by subtraction.  I feel bad for the kid but it would have been bad ju-ju if he stayed.

Wish the best for the kid. His dad is the one deserving the scorn.  I hope he graduates with a degree llike he would have at MU

Who did we add when Odartey transferred?
