It may have had something to do with Jereal McNeal breaking his thumb and DJ going on the coldest of cold streaks.

The exact same thing happened with Reece Gaines, and we went to the Final Four that year.  No correlation.

Well, I don't know about psyche or anything, but it was a huge dagger strictly in terms of everything it meant.  He misses that, we're 11-5 and tied with Louisville and probably have a top 4 seed for the BE tournament.  Assuming we take one there over a team that had to work hard the night before, we're probably a 4 or 5 seed instead of an 8 in the NCAAs.  Strictly from a basketball standpoint it was HUGE.

great shot.....cost MU a couple of seeds and shot Ville to the top.  arrrgh
