I present to the defense exhibit A...

Granted, we don't win without both of them, but of the two, Crowder was the one stepping to the forefront again and again.

Thank you brewcity. I wonder more that muscoop has the man crush on JFB. JC was the SOthisG, with a big assist from JFB.

In trouble.  Jae is a great all around player.  Love his intensity, all out hustle on offense and defense.  He simply is an outstanding player!

The stud of the game issue is a really tough call. I'm just happy as hell that we are debating who should get the award. If it wasn't for jae, we couldn't have clung to our lead. Stepped up in a big with his intensity and strength.  If it wasn't for jfb, we couldn't have iced the game at the end. Jfb also came up huge with his midgame jumpers which were as pure as I've seen him shoot. Either way I'd be happy with either one of them getting the nod here rather than a loss and no one getting it.

Another thing I noticed is how many different sotg players we have this year compared to last.

I would not underestimate the contributions of Joe Fulce to making this a team. Not everything about leadership can be quantified empirically. JFB or Jae may the soul of this team but Joe Fulce is its heart

+1

Agreed - Here is a kid who doesn't have the greatest of knees, and yet gives it his all whenever he comes into the game. He always has a smile on his face, never complains, works hard and seems to appreciate the opportunities given to him.

Oh.....And, he makes great pregame/halftime videos for us to enjoy on the jumbotron  ;D

I wasn't trying to dismiss the contributions of Fulce, i was more so trying to point out the fabulous job that Buzz has done overall when recruiting JUCO players given how productive guys like DJO, Butler, Crowder, and Buycks have been on the court.

Without that instant high level production, odds are that MU wouldn't have made the NCAA Tournament last year may have struggled more this season.

Was at the game with my kid...  we decided Jae was our favorite player because of the way he played, but also because of the way he went over and stood alone in front of Melo after taking the elbow to the face intentional foul.  That took cohones.
