Where was DJO going anyhow?  He wouldn't have gotten to the basket in time.

Why not pull up for a jumper?

It wasn't the refs fault that DJO was completely out of control.

marquette09

My bigger issue with the refs was the clear path foul that was not called when DJO was on the break.  That would have been 2 FT's for us and the ball

WellsstreetWanderer

Did you see the Vandy guy in a suit tell DJO "you got robbed" during the handshakes? It was right in front of the camera

Steve Buscemi

F*ck Jim Burr... he screwed up this game as well as the Notre Dame game last year, when he kicked the ball back inbounds

I don't believe that there is a clear path foul in the NCAA...only the NBA.

You got robbed, but thanks.
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

That play was a hell of a lot closer to an intentional foul than the horseshit Burr called on Crowder.

Burr needs to retire or fucking die.

Crowder almost took him out on that play where he was fouled

Being a Packers, Brewers, and Marquette fan is extremely bad for my health. Heartbreak is a way of life.

I only blame the refs when Jim Burr is one of them.

MU B2002

We are we blaming Buycks?  (If ur post is teal my apologies as I am mobile).  But I thought Buycks made some huge plays.

There is an intentional foul in the NCAA and they could use film of that play as an example. And if they're looking for film on what's NOT an intentional foul they can go to Burr's call on Crowder. I won't say an official cost us the game because you never know what else might have changed if Burr doesn't totally blow those 3 calls, but if you miss the easy ones you have no business being out there.

Yes, it was in teal. Buycks definitely came up big tonight. I was simply mocking the poster who started this thread. I bet you can guess his screen name.

It doesn't matter where DJO was going on that last play. It was a foul.

Jim Burr spit on the spot that DJO slipped on just prior to the play right?

First off, I agree 100% that the Crowder call was BS.  But I don't think an intentional on DJO would have been a good call either...and I don't think that was Burr's call to make.  My recollection was that Burr was in the far corner when that was made.

TallTitan34

What would it take to get a fol called on the road?  Obviously not a trip.  Closeline? Punch to the head? Stabbing?

warriors1991

While I'm almost never a proponent of blaming refs for the final outcome, Burr was responsible for two horrendous intentional foul call screwups and then just stood there looking like the old man in the movie "Up" while DJO got dislodged at the end. Absolutely awful. I'm refraining from profanities because they're still spewing out of my mouth at the TV screen.

It varies. Are you Georgetown in 08?

NersEllenson

Can anyone clarify what happened on the 3 that Crowder shot with about 1 minute left that would have put us up 1 or 2?  Otule had box out position and rebounded the ball...but the officials whistled it the other way (but Otule had 4 fouls on him at that time).  Commentators never mentioned what happend..may have assumed a foul on Otule.  From what I saw the ricochet of Crowders shot didn't project in such a way that it went behind the basket..if it did bounce on the top of the backboard..and on down to Otule..is the top of the backboard considered out of bounds?

Appeared to go over corner of the backboard.

I thought the rebound went over the backboard.  It obviously wasn't a foul.
