This class is filled with a bunch of ballers.  Gardner is a beast.  Blue is a stud.  Smith is solid.

Agreed.....but I hope we can find a PG and a shooter (to compliment DJO).

Very scary game today.

Agree, CBB is such a 3 point shooting game...and we have 1 proven shooter. Buycks looks like he's improved but need some consistency outside. But hey, Bucknell is a tough team, great win.

Yeah, especially since the offense looks so clunky when its run through Buycks.

SOTG: Gardner. Without him, we wouldn't have closed the gap so late in the game.

Too bad since Jae had a double-double tonight.

Oh well. Ring out AHOYA!

And GO 49ers!!!

Nothing gets you out of the doghouse faster than leading the team to a comeback victory.

I thought Junior was as good as anyone (other than Blue) on perimeter D today!  There were more poor switches than I care to remember....not to mention his running of the O was very solid.  That last travel call was BS, but oh well.

Pretty sure Gardner led the team to the comeback..Cadougan:  1 point, 2 assists, 2 turnovers 3 rebounds...let's not get too carried away with Junior's contributions...it was ALL Buycks and Davante..period.

good win...Bucknell gave Nova all they could handle last week, they're no slouch.

Nice to see an MU Big be productive in the post.

Blue is a man...Can't wait to see these guys perform with JFB and DJO actually playing well.  Both of those 2 guys have been asleep the first 2 games.

Well, if he "ran the team well" for the last 10 minutes as has been suggested, then he must have done OK.

Sporadically good and bad...the reality is that whether it was Junior or Reggie - Buycks not playing PG..he was free to play the 2..and was able to go 3-3 from the 3 point line.  Gardner had their big in foul trouble..smart basketball attacking the kid with 4 fouls.  The reality is that this win wasn't the result of Junior running the point..it was because Buycks hit some shots, and Gardner stepped up huge. Let's give credit where credit is due.

I liked what i saw from Vander Blue on defense, but he looked lost and nervous on offense, whats up with the airballs? he needs to get in the gym and practice his jumper.

Can you clarify what this means??  I feel giving Buycks and Gardner the credit for the win is the appropriate place for credit to be given.

Do you honestly believe that Cadougan had nothing to do with the W? Do you believe he shouldnt get any credit?

Take your own advice...he deserves credit, as it was clear that he had an impact on MU getting the W.

I thought Cadougan really pushed the offense and got us in a flow. Once we got the ball on defense he was pushing it up the court. I hope he is out of the doghouse quick because him running point and Buycks off the ball was our best duo. Buycks scares me that he is going to get called for carrying whenever he dribbles, especially with his left.

Fair enough - I just didn't see it the way and some others did. I didn't feel Junior did anything really great or remarable.   His game line wasn't anything impressive.  To me the difference was that we were able to get in transition in the 2nd half..because Bucknell went cold from the field...you can't get in transition very well off of makes.  Our "offense" always looks better off of missed shots, and getting out in transition.  Last point is that if Buycks and Gardner don't make their shots...it doesn't make a bit of a difference.  Basically this game was a game of two halves and the script flipped..we became the Bucknell of the first half in the 2nd half..and Bucknell became the MU of the first half.

This was a great game... no one player won this game but a group of players, a team, came together and picked themselves up from the brink of a "turrible" upset and pulled victory from the mouth of defeat.  Way to go boys!!!

The present and future looks bright for MU basketball

Agree that Bucyks will benefit if he can be moved off of the 1..and to the 2...having said that..I'm still not sold that Junior is the better option at point than Reggie...

I dont think you watched today's game.

I already told you I did...and you don't seem to take into account that we looked a lot better in the 2nd half because Bucknell started missing shots and we were able to get into some early offense and transition offense.  That isn't something Junior created.  Furthermore, Bucknell likely wore down..Homer and Tony Smith were saying as much at the 10 minute mark..

I'll leave it at that...I'm one of the most optimistic posters here..and certainly don't want to come off as being negative toward Junior - and I know it appears that way - but in my view I just didn't see him being the catalyst or reason we won this game.

I think Junior had a lot to do with exploiting them being worn down though. He was pushing the ball up the court every chance he got. He didn't give them time to rest. He would also pass it up court instead of just dribbling. I don't know if Smith or Buycks had that type of urgency, although they were in during different situations.

First time poster here....

I think we may see Junior starting soon. I haven't seen any mention of it yet, but I think the biggest play of his short career was the charge he took from the big guy under the basket. When Buzz talks about tough guys - that is exactly what he is looking for.

Who was in at crunch time at the point?  Junior.  The offense runs the smoothest when he is in the game.  If he can get his shot together a little, he will be a problem for opponents because he has the best floor vision of the points.

Junior Cadougan obviously had an impact on the outcome of the game.  He was running the point when we went on the huge run.  I dont think he played at all in the first half when we were losing, once he came in the game our defense improved and he took controll.  I know he didnt put up great numbers, but his contributions go further than the box score.  I think he should definatley be the starting point guard over smith.  I would like to see Cadougan, buycks, DJO, Jimmy and Otule.

Pretty sure Gardner led the team to the comeback..Cadougan:  1 point, 2 assists, 2 turnovers 3 rebounds...let's not get too carried away with Junior's contributions...it was ALL Buycks and Davante..period.

I respect your basketball knowledge and usually agree with your assessments, but to my eye our offense runs much smoother with Junior at the helm. I also think his post entry passes are far better (and more frequent) than any of our other guards. If he can hold his own defensively I think he'll be the main guy.

No kidding.  Everytime I hear how the internet is going to replace television right around the corner I start to chuckle.  Maybe some day, but so so so many issues and today was just another.

It was Veetle... what the hell is Veetle?  Major networks, Hulu, and ESPN3 are pretty good.  And "just around the corner" is like 5 years.  Enough of that though, it was a good win.  The youngsters look very promising.  If this progresses like it should, we should be solid in February and March.

Even Hulu, ESPN3 have significant issues.  The biggest problem is scale.  Broadband is limited or even non-existent in many parts of this country.  Hulu is about to lower their price from $10 to $5 because they can't get anyone to buy it....at the end of the day, there has to be a P & L to this thing that makes sense.

Yes, the youngsters stepped up late.  That was a scary game, glad we turned on the jets the last 10 minutes.  They were stuck on 57 points for a long time...Thank God

I know others have said Junior is a "gamer", and I completely agree. A lot of times, a good PG will do stuff that doesnt necessarily show up in his stat line.
The "average fan" is an idiot.
