Good exposure in Chicago.  And I find it interesting that MU winds up in Chicago papers on a yearly basis yet I don't think I've ever seen an article about any Illinois colleges in the Urinal.

I think that prolly has to do with the fact that MU has had a fair share of both Chicago players and students throughout the years but much less often do Milwaukee players or students go to Illinois schools. Probably just a result of Chicago having so many more high caliber players and number of students than MKE year after year.

That's exactly what it is.  Why would the MJS write an article about DePaul basketball?

Was Skip Myslenski (formerly of the Chicago Tribute) a Marquette grad?  Once he moved to Northwestern, the quantity of articles about Marquette declined - at least that's what it seemed like.

Part of it also that the Tribune is a regional newspaper that can be purchased in Milwaukee, Indiana, even parts of Michigan.  The MJS is confined to SE Wisconsin for the most part.

People is Milwaukee don't care to read about Illinois schools. Some I think even don't care about the local college teams. It's Packers and Brewers to many readers.

I'm going to hold up Terry Boers' "Not Interested" sign for Hanley.  He is a Cubs fan and Marquette fan like myself yet I can't stand him.  Though he did buy robmufan and myself a beer when he found out we were MU grads.

Best show hands down is Boers & Bernstein.  Those guys along with Jason and Abattacola are fantastic.

I think Jason Goff puts together a pretty good solo show.  Abbatacola is good when he is with Jay Zawatski or Goff but alone he's awful.

Personal preference is a strange thing. I would reverse that order exactly, and I would actually put Boers & Bernstein further down the list if including commercials, scoreboard updates, overnight national shows and early morning paid programming...

I can't stand that smug little Dukey, Bernstein. He is a legend in his own mind, yet is often sooooooo wrong when he claims superiority of knowledge.  Bernstein, just because your daddy was a lawyer does NOT mean you know everything about the law. That is just one example.  Give me Danny Mac and Mully & Hanley anytime over those idiots.  I know that they have a loyal following, but I just don't get it.

I think ESPN Waddle and Silvy and Afternoon Saloon are much more entertaining.  I laugh throughout the day which I am so grateful for because I have a really boring job.

ESPN Radio has too many restrictions placed on them.  They aren't allowed to speak ill of the World Baseball Classic because their channel hosts it.  The Brett Favre stuff wasn't touched until the NFL got involved because of their feud with Deadspin.  When Tony Kornheiser's comments got him in trouble awhile back, that too was off limits.

The Score doesn't have these limitations.  They are owned by CBS but that doesn't stop them from crapping on CBS broadcast teams, shows, etc.

Danny Mac was suspended something like 6 times during his time at ESPN for talking about these things.  During his two terms at the Score he hasn't been suspended once.

If you have Sirius...and want to be entertained and are looking for something outside of your market area...give 103.3 ESPN Dallas a try between 4-6pm for a segment called Galloway and Company.  Randy Galloway is a legendary sports writer for Fort Worth Star telegram..and he is an absolute gem in the world of sports talk radio.  He calls Wade Phillips the Big Doufous...encourages the Dallas Mavericks to "thug it up," and will go to a "Call a brother" brother segment...for brother only commentary on topics such as Terrell Owens, Mavericks, etc.  He stirs the pot, doesn't kiss athletes butts..but athletes still like him, brothers love him...he's just a really unique guy in the world of sports radio....

Not sure why I'm sharing this considering most people don't care about sports teams outside their market area..but..his show is really good...
