Holy unnatural carnal knowledge.

Unreal. Cincy's Dixon is not going to be able to sleep tonight.

It doesn't count - he didn't call bank

Did you hear "The Butler Did It" after the GW? Nuts, thought we were the only ones making Clue references..

Can't help but feel bad for Dixon.

I remember people on this board saying Hayward played bad defense on Butler when he burned Marquette late in Morgantown.  The guy is the college version of Kobe.  He hits big shots late in games, and as he said during the post game interview, "a little luck helps too."  He is clutch.  What a terrific day of hoops in the Big East tournament!

boyonthedock

its about as bad as that memphis kid who missed those free throws a couple years ago.

MUBurrow

yeah, the heart really goes out to cincy and particular to Dixon though. here that team thought they had played their way back onto the bubble and had a matchup with ND to all of a sudden look very good for the dance. to go down like that is really tough.

I really thought Butler was the POY in the BEast, and there he goes again.  You take him off that team, and what happens to WV?

MU B2002

a fade away 3 at the buzzer...  Maybe we were all a little hard on the prophetic mikedeanmeminger.

In the press conference, Lance Stephenson just said that Da'Sean Butler called bank on his dramatic, game-winning three pointer

Really?  Honestly don't remember people saying that.  He made a great shot against us.  I think the frustration was missing the free throws and coughing up the lead late in the game

He's a great player but when you bank one in like that it's not clutch - it's luck.

You could make that argument, and it may be a great one, if he hadn't won like 5 games at the buzzer this year.  I'd say he's as clutch as it gets.

I understand.  But he does seem to make a very high percentage of those otherwise very difficult shots, and bank shots still count.   ;)

Would absolutely love another shot at them on Saturday...let's see if he can do it again.

That's just silly.  He went up with a hand in his face and it went through the net.  Clutch.

Wow, just watched the highlight.  That was an unbelievable turnover by Dixon.  He was crushed.  What a shot by Butler.  He has proven himself as the guy that wins games at the end.  Ice water!

That's just silly. His shot was 2-3 feet off the mark. I suppose if he bricked in a free throw off glass to win a game you'd be saying what a clutch shot it was.

No.  I wouldn't.  Free throws aren't defended.

Good players make those shots.  He has a history of making them.  That isn't luck.

He missed his target by a good 2 feet. Anytime you do that and the ball goes in it's luck.

Let me put it this way.  If Chris Otule takes that shot, it's luck.  Butler?  Clutch.  Good shooters get the benefit of the doubt.

With the soft rims at MSG this week, the bank wasn't a bad strategy from straight away.  Just get it on the rim and good things seem to happen.
